We had a dinner here, with family. The place is very elegant and the people extremely kind. Good selection of wine. I found the food quite standard, especially the main dishes; side dishes of tuna and duck seem to be the same. in addition I found a little rock in the spinach of my starter. Too much expensive for the... More

One of the best places to eat Tartare in Lausanne. Dishes are generous and tasty. Bread could be better and the butter was completely frozen ( we had to melt it with the candles on the table). Friendly staff, nice view.

Had a lovely 3-course meal with my wife this evening at L'AO; our first visit. The meal was very tasty off of a varied and interesting menu - seems like a great deal of thought has been made to the different dishes and how they are presented. Service was efficient but also very friendly... It wasn't so busy for a... More

Downtown of Lausanne, a very nice place (wonderful terrasse and a lot of windows) to eat an original and very good food (tarte tatin de tomates cerise, fondant au chocolat).

Good restaurant, fine cuisine, excellent wine... Go for the "menu tartare", very orignal and tasty! Beautiful view on the cathedral from the terrasse.

Went with friends for dinner, very pleasantly surprised! Fish tartare as a starter, fresh, well seasoned. Fried octopus for seconds, can't even describe this dish properly... Amazing is all that comes to mind. Meat for main, cooked to perfection. Wine recommendations by the waiter were spot on for me. They were packed so make sure to book in advance if... More

L'ao is a very nice restaurant on top of Pont Bessieres, with a nice view of Lausanne and a small garden/terrace to have dinner outside. The service is kind and the atmosphere relaxed, even though a but noisy. The meal is surprising for the high quality of food... Especially tartare is a must. Desserts are a bit too much classic... We had a 3 course dinner at l'AO. While the entrée was really nice (fish tartare) the main course was really terrible: overcooked fish and undercooked and cold meat. Dessert was average. Service was poor (very long wait, maybe that's why the fish was overcooked...) the décor is anything but classy. Not a place I would recommend for lunch or... More

Was there invited by a business colleague. We had a plate each. Was tasty enough. My meat was maybe a little too cook for a duck. But the orange sauce was alright. I surely will go back there but seems much better for a night out. Won't be the first place I will propose though to a lunch.
