We had a group of 8 family member with varying tastes and all of the meals were good. Try the liver dishes or the pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe) -- they're especially good.

Rösti is one of those quintessentially Swiss dishes (grated potatoes fried on both sides and topped with a dollop of cheese or sauce) that you can easily do at home -- but which is also gratifying to have in a restaurant that pretty much specializes in it, together with some Swiss-German/German specialties. If I'm going to dine out and have... More

I was told to try the rosti by my local colleagues, and had a very good one here. The rosti is basically potatoes, and can be a bit dry, but they serve it with a mushroom sauce which makes it much better. Staff could be more friendly, though - it looks like you need to get up and leave quickly... More

The title says it all. The pork cordon bleu was crispy, tender and stuffed with heaps of tasty molten cheese. The veal filet slices in a cream and mushroom sauce was just as good. French fries and rösti were impeccable, crisp on the outside, soft but not dry underneath. All was pretty quickly served, piping hot and of generous size.... More

Located very close to old town near the station. This restaurant has quite a bit of options for vegetarians. I am a vegetarian. I got excellent mushroom and cheese with pasta. The raclette was also excellent. A meal for 2 with beer would cost close to CHF 60

As we walked in on Xmas Eve, it was packed. I was thankful many restaurants in Zurich were open till late on Xmas Eve. Heaven forbid me to be in Helsinki at that time again - it's a ghost town (yes, even convenience stores are closed). Anyway, I digressed. Though it wasn't all smiles, the wait staff was kind enough... More

We have been recently once again to Johanniter and we were pleased to notice that the service and food are still very good. We like it because of its central location and the good service. Also, it is a very good place if you want to taste typical swiss food. We will definitely go back again!

This is a must-do in Zürich. Local environment, local people and local food! My mom had the pork knuckles and said it was perfect! I had schpätzl and the cheese raclette, both were delicious! I am holding myself back to not eat there every day and night, because it is incredibly good! P.S.: service may not be very friendly at... More

A very traditional always full house Swiss restaurant with a amazingly fast service that doesn't come at the cost of quality. After many visits over the past 20 over years I've always been 'surprised' how the service and kitchen crew manage to serve such high quality meals without letting guests from all over the world wait. To all tourists out... More
