From the service to the wine recommendation to the phenomenal food, we could not fault. After stumbling across the restaurant on Google, we went amazed at the quality. As Scot’s on their first night in Switzerland we could of dream of anything more. The meat...melted in our mouth, the wine went down like a charm (we took the waiters recommendation of a Swiss merlot) and the flavours throughout the entire meal were to die for. I chose this restaurant due to its high ranking on TripAdvisor and made the error of not checking the menu, which focuses on read meat (esp. steak tartare) and many fried options. You may find these options appealing, but I found the menu limited and...the non-meat, non-fried options that we ordered uninspiring. Service was adequate. It was interesting to be outside the Zurich old city and off the tourist track. There is a tram stop right outside the restaurant, which is quite convenient.More

We enjoy every birthday the excellent food in the very nice restaurant differente (at Krone Unterstrass). I had a tender Entrecote café de paris, pommes and spinach, as dessert I enjoyed a great choise of cheeses and a dessert wine. Really excellent !! Very friendly,...helpful staff. Yummy food and great drink selection! I had the ravioli which was delicious. We started with the beef tartar, but I didn’t love it. It’s highly rated though so maybe im just not a beef tartar person! Would recommend this restaurant!More

Overall good service and food, only shortcomings were that the waitress had trouble taking orders in english and some of the tartares (symphonie) had too much alcohol or were too salty.

I totally recommend this place! As a foreigner living in Switzerland, it is really hard to find good food around… but this place made me write this review. The food was amazing. I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday, the dishes were delicious and the service always at the top! We will not hesitate to come back. The amenities are fancy and comfortable.

Our dinner at Differente was truly amazing. The ambience in the restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner and the food is simply perfect. We both had the Tartare Symphony and could try 6 different types of tartare, all of which were superbe. We celebrated my wife’s birthday last week and enjoyed greatly the whole experience: The service, the food -the meat was extraordinary, the driks! We ate so much that we didn’t have place for dessert and then we were surprised that due to my wife’s birthday...she got a voucher for dessert. The visit was ok from start to finish, but everything was only ok. Friendly but unpersonal staff, good food but without that special touch, ok wine but also charged quite heavily.More
