My wife and I came on a busy Saturday afternoon for an early dinner. We received warm and efficient service and we were soon faced by an enormous selection of the main menu. I opted for the game pie and my wife had the lasagne. Both were generous portions and delicious. Despite better advice, I had the banoffee pie and... More

Looking for a drive out from Glossop for Sunday Lunch with some friends googled & found The Royal Oak, looked promising so booked it. What a result! 3 of us ordered the lamb roast & 1 bit fancying a roast ordered the lasagna. We all so thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The roast lamb was succulent and plentiful thick slices, the... We were cycling on the Tissington/High Peak trail and as the pub is only 100 m from the trail went there for lunch. They expect cyclists as there is a cycle park although we felt slightly underdressed compared with other clientel! Good service although rushed a bit over my choice of beer. The food was good value and well presented.... More

A party of 8 of us visited this restaurant on a Friday night. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection of food, all well prepard and served promptly. I had the 12oz rump steak, which was cooked as ordered. Would have liked to have gone back Saturday night, but they were fully booked.

A large group of us gathered in a separate room. All meals were served within a few minutes of each other, with enthusiasm and good humour. Although one dish was not available that day, every effort was made to find a suitable alternative. As I have come to expect, the food was very good.

We stopped for dinner at the Royal Oak earlier this week and were very glad that we did. The atmosphere, service and especially the food were all excellent. The portions are plentiful and genuinely top quality cooking. The pub itself filled up very quickly after we arrived so is clearly a popular spot! We felt lucky to have gotten a... More

We ate at The Royal Oak yesterday evening and enjoyed an excellent meal. Our party of 9 adults and 2 children were all impressed with the menu choice, including vegetarian options and children's menu, and with the quality of food and portion size. The staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and efficient. The waitress who took our order and the barman... More

The campsite is located just behind the pub, there is a good road round the site, the site itself is small but has everything you need, nice clean toilet and shower facilities, the pub is nice and also dog friendly, the food in the pub is really good and the portions are huge! There is lighting on at night around... More
