Visited on a Saturday night, not too busy , probably a hidden gem. Restaurant name isn't trendy. The food was excellent . Reasonably priced. I had a sizzling dish the theatre of this dish was slightly lost as it was served in tin foil but tasted superb.

Came here with my girlfriend who's a veggie, and fancied something Chinese for dinner, thought we'd give Tibetanese a go since it's meant to be similar. We were greeted and sat at a small table by a friendly woman (think she was the proprietor!), but no more friendly than any other place in Amsterdam. Quite a sizeable menu, and if... More

The food was horrible. The decor was like a Tibetan monastery. Actually a Chinese place NOT Tibetan.

Tastes / feels known, but not completely. This is worth trying, as access to Tibet in the real world is not that easy. Menu and set courses are good. Friendly quiet service.

Very nice atmosphere and amazing food. Price is adequate. I asked what was the best dish and they brought me an amazing pork.

Really good food at a reasonable price. Good service and pleasant interior. Wide variety on menu. Much nicer than some other Asian restaurants in the area.

My husband and I visited the restaurant a weekend in November. The food was really good. Great tastes, lots of food and a great price. The restaurant is located in the middle of the red light district, but don´t get frightened by this. It´s really worth a visit. We will definetely go back the next time we are in Amsterdam

Everything about this place exudes exotic. The waves of hash smoke outside the building coupled with an interior straight out of an Indiana Jones movie roped us right in. The restaurant is near the red light area so the hustle and bustle of the street adds to the ambiance. Our experience here was a mixed bag. I opted for the... More

Being a veggie is always a challenge, although not so much in NL. This restaurant has plenty of choices (not only for the veggies) and also super tasty. I went for the sizzling veggies and they were right at the perfect point. Nice, not dry, saucy, tasty and abundant. I loved it! It was my second time there and I... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
