Lovely thai in the middle of tourist area red light district. fresh ingredients, open kitchen so you can see the chef making your mail with love and attention. If you walk inside... don't forget to look on your left to see pictures all the famous people who dined here as well like Brad Pitt :)

We were looking for a restaurant that didn't exist any more and ended up here because there was a table free....and it was really good. It was late so we went straight for the main course and dishes varied from tofu through to chicken and sea-food....we were all impressed...a great find

Very nice meal, had the Thai red curry which tasted very good. Very nice ambience, deco plus possible to see the actual chef cooking. Only thing to note what the time it took to be Served but we arrived at rush hour. Would definitely recommend.

This is my first time meeting a scary waiter in thai resto, they are ussually very polite. But, here. The waiter was rude and unpolite. The food was ok! Just the service and the staff a bit scary.

Visited the restaurant fairly late on a Saturday evening, the staff were very accommodating and got us a table, the restaurant is decorated beautifully with lots of fresh flowers which was a nice touch! Food was delish! Would definitely recommend the beef panang, it was like a fillet steak in red panang sauce, gorgeous!

Late lunch after a tour to the country. We both had Pad Thai, lovely, fresh, medium spicy. We washed down with a chardy+a Thai beer. Service friendly, prompt, food certainly hit the spot. On a canal in the red light district.

Fantastic Thai food at this establishment and very reasonably priced. Located next to the canal with beautiful scenery. We sat outside as the night was drawing in, and we were totally delighted with our food choice and the service. There are a lot of choices in Amsterdam regarding oriental food etc... But we liked this one due to location and... More

Starting with the positive, the interior was very nice and my starter of prawn rolls was ok. Waited 1 hour to receive my main - when queried was given some far fetched story about beef taking longer (medium rare beef takes only a couple of minutes). Eventually, once my phone battery had died and I watched my neighbouring table receive... More

This is a very touristy part of Amsterdam along side one of the mid-sized canals, so I wasn't expecting too much, but it was a delightful surprise. The service was fast and polite and the food arrived hot, authentic and delicious. The outdoor terrace part of the restaurant is quite cramped, but my teenaged daughter enjoyed both the meal and... Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
