Visited last week after a very cold and slightly disappointing canal cruise for the light festival. But De Waaghals didn't disappoint. The chestnut soup was gorgeous and my main of German "pasta" was fantastic. My friends all raved about their food too... Wonderful! The wine...More

We are excellently here. Three meat eaters and one vegan. The meat eaters were delighted with the tagine and the curry (who needs meat, anyway?) There could have been more in the way of choices for our vegan but what there was was excellent. Not...More

I just had dinner in this amazing vegetarian restaurant. Coming from New York, one tends to a little jaded with exciting and new restaurants but this one absolutely makes the cut. The soup to the lentil curry to the dessert were all spectacular. The fact...More

Before jetting to Amsterdam, we had clocked Waaghals as a restaurant to visit. We didn't have a reservation, there were few seats to choose from and liked the casual and warm ambience of the restaurant. We both had the three course dinner for 30€, plus...More

Description
De WAAGHALS (= The Dare-devil) is an attractive vegetarian restaurant. The atmosphere is informal, but the food is refined and creative. Organic ingredients are used as much as possible. Each month a dish focuses on a different country. Our menu changes twice a month. There is a large selection of drinks available, from various sorts of tea and fruit juices to different kinds of beer (including locally brewed ones) and organic wines. The interior is very comfortable and on nice summer evenings you can dine outside. De WAAGHALS is very popular with a growing number of non-vegetarians. It is advisable to book in advance
