Excellent selection of inventive vegetarian options - from appetizers to desserts. The spring vegetables with polenta was an especially delicious entree. Nice that ingredients are locally sourced as much as possible. Service was good and chef came to explain dishes and sat to talk for...More

We visited this restaurant today (30/05/2017) for a top quality vegan meal. Everything we picked from the menu was superb. The falafel with extras was very aromatic, unlinke a y other falafel I have ever tried before. We also enjoyed absolutely guilt free sugar free...More

Superb and creative courses across the menu: starters, small plates, entrees, and desserts. The combinations of fresh ingredients are highly inventive, lively, and well balanced...we enjoyed each course immensely! This was by far our most rewarding food experience in Amsterdam—and at a very modest price....More

They put together interesting combinations of vegetarian food with great taste. And the setting is airy, low-key and pleasant.

For starters I had the garlic mushrooms which was sublime. And for main I had the Falafel. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and laid out on the plate. The service was also fast and nice. And the food came quite fast. Special mention goes to...More

My sisters and I chose this restaurant for our special night out. We had all been here before and had good experiences. However, this visit was a disappointment. Granted, the food is good (we ordered 2-3 course meals plus prosecco and a bottle of wine),...More

The renovation is nice and the food is still great!! We will be back again. Service is typical Dutch laid back, but they're attentive as needed.

As regular, but infrequent visitors (we live in Den Haag) my wife and I have been enjoying De Waaghals for 5+ years. The food, service and ambience are always great, but last year's Christmas menu was superb. Long may it continue - it's a national...More

De WAAGHALS (= The Dare-devil) is an attractive vegetarian restaurant. The atmosphere is informal, but the food is refined and creative. Organic ingredients are used as much as possible. Each month a dish focuses on a different country. Our menu changes twice a month. There is a large selection of drinks available, from various sorts of tea and fruit juices to different kinds of beer (including locally brewed ones) and organic wines. The interior is very comfortable and on nice summer evenings you can dine outside. De WAAGHALS is very popular with a growing number of non-vegetarians. It is advisable to book in advance
