We happened across this restaurant one cold wet night in December 2016. We were a family with adult children travelling through Europe, so we wanted to eat local food. What a great find on the tram line #1,2,5,13,17. We had the local Dutch Kroketten (Croquettes) and other local meat and salad dishes. All tastes were catered for in an authentic... More

I was pleased to find this little gem so I could sample some true Dutch food and it did not disappoint. It was a cold dreary day but the cheerful server and the warm hearty food put a bright spot on the afternoon. I can't recall the name of the meal I ate, but it was mashed potato with vegetables... One of the best meals we have had in Amsterdam so far. The outside looks a little tired and the the inside, maybe quaint and old styled, but the food more than makes up for this. Several local dishes on offer but the main attraction must be the "Pruttelpot", a beefstew. This comes with several sides and is a ssubstantial... More

What a treat. Amsterdam appears to have Argentinian restaurants on ever corner along with pizza. So imagine my delight to find this little gem just down the road from my hotel offering some traditional danish dishes. Oud Holland offers service that is friendly and quick along with great food. I can recommend the Beef stew. It comes with baby carrots... More

Received a recommendation for a rental bike shop owner to come here. Found the menus to be slightly difficult to read with how they were printed, but there was English (among other languages) on the menu. The wait staff spoke English just fine so we were able to order easily. The food was exactly how we had traditional Dutch food... More

The food was very good - mussels and beef stew. It was refreshing to find a mid-priced restaurant in the centre that wasn't a steak house/Italian/Asian... The interior is a bit shabby, but cozy. We want to come back.

We chose this restaurant simply because it was close to our B & B, but we lucked out. The traditional Dutch food was very good, and the service by Manuela was exceptional. This dining experience is a fond memory of Amsterdam. Thanks!

We were craving some pea soup so we decided to stop in here as it was close to our hotel. It was bland and watery. We don't know about other dishes as we didn't have any. We won't go back. There found better Dutch restaurants.

This is a great place to eat if you want to have true Dutch Cuisine! I took two of my Adult children with to Amsterdam and we did some exploring. They are used to my Dutch cooking (mixed with Canadian) but wanted to try an Authentic Restaurant not all the North American chains. This place has awesome food. The building... More

This was the first day of our first visit to Amsterdam. We found this restaurant which walking around perusing the menus. Apparently the food was traditional Dutch food, and quite tasty. The main entree came with several sides, including a green salad, that came as dishes to be shared. As always in Europe, the wine was good and reasonably priced.... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
