I attended with my son and wife for a dinner as my wife is ASIAN and wanted Chinese cooking. We did not like the rice or the chicken dish and paid and left and went for PIZZA .

Terrible service. We ordered the set meals expecting quick service as the place was empty, our order was taken then a group of about 12 Chinese Asians turned up, followed by 2 Chinese Asians about 10 minutes later at another table. We were totally forgotten about whilst they were served first. Their food was almost eaten by the time our... More

We were craving for some chinese food and this place turned out to be perfect. Although they did not have much vegetarian options in the menu, but they were able to suggest a few things and in the end the fried rice, mapu tofu turned out to be great. The people were quite helpful and cheerful. Kevin from HK was... More

Located just off Dam square up a flight of stairs to a first floor restaurant, hence not good if you struggle with stairs, but very efficient and quick service and HUGE portions on all dishes, not the cheapest Chinese restaurant in the world but high end quality, and well worth the money. Because of the portion sizes think carefully about... More

food was tasty, waiter so friendly and quick, location is in the heart of Amsterdam or Damrak Square. A couple block behind is Red Light District Area. Around restaurant you can find Bijenkorf Mall, Grand Palace, Madam Tussaud Museum and many souvenir shops. The restaurant is in the 2nd floor.

Food was very bland and not very interesting. Service was slow and not attentive. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Over priced food without any flavour, undercooked beef and chicken fried rice that only tasted half decent with the chicken. For a starter each, main and rice to share it came to €81. The service is ok but the food lets it down! Don't bother, you can get far nicer food else where and better service at half the price.

The reason I go to this restaurant is not to have a five-star small dinner or to be helped with every step of my dinner. I come here to get a little of the Eatern experience; some nice dish, a lovely Tsingtao beer and some assistance from the staff in the ordering process. Every time we come here (about once... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
