I have visited on a few occasions a bit spur of the moment without booking a table and manage to get squeezed in at the bar. Great wine selection and great pizzas.

Most delicious hand cooked pizza. We couldn't get a seat in the restaurant as it was so busy but across the road is the takeaway. They have a beautifully executed mural on the back wall and the staff are very friendly but ultimately the pizza is delicious! Highly recommend!

We were pleasantly surprised to find such good pizza Napoletana in Amsterdam. It was so good, we ate here twice during our brief stay. It's a very busy, jovial and relaxed place with many people waiting to come get a table. Highly recommend it.

The pizzas are made across the street, and it's a bit odd to see the waitstaff racing back and forth through the front door, retrieving their orders. I imagine the pizza loses a degree of temperature as well, on a cold winter day like the one we ate on. But the pizza is well made and delicious, with a thin... More

I sort of developed a love/hate relationship with this restaurant. After our umbrella got stolen there and the staff didn't care, we decided not to go there any more. We searched the whole Amsterdam, trying various wood oven pizza places. None of them were as good as La Perla. The pizza at La Perla is excellent, but their service is... More

Everything you need from a restaurant; Fresh Ingredients, food freshly made to order, not expensive. I ordered the salami pizza (not very experimental I know) They used fresh tomato puree which was instantly nicer, then for the cheese they use buffalo cheddar, which makes all the difference to these pizzas, it's very creamy and flavorsome. The salami had the right... More

Hopefully you get in here when there isn't a crowd - we had most of the place to ourselves, but can imagine how busy it would get in this small space. Solid brick oven pizzas in a casual setting with very fresh tomato sauce. Pastas are underwhelming, and service is relaxed and slow but friendly and courteous. A good choice... More

Description
In the heart of the Amsterdam neighborhood known as 'De Jordaan', there is a street popularly known as 'Little Italy'. This street owes its nickname to the relatively large amount of high standard Italian restaurants in the area. Only one of these makes pizzas: La Perla. We've built a large wood fueled brick oven, which is essential to baking a great pizza. You can take away our pizzas, or - when in the Jordaan, do as the Jordanezen do - eat in the pizzeria, have an espresso or a dessert and enjoy the lively in- and outdoor scene.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
