One of the best India Restaurants in Amsterdam City, I find. Taste of the food is wonderful. I always get a food orgasm.

Just had a good time @ fair prices. Located in the RL district. Gives you the opportunity to visit the RL district wit a full belly as portion are well sized. Only (-) if you neighbors are eating grilled meals you can end up with smelly clothes.

After doing two walking tours on a long, rainy day, we were quite desperate for hot Indian food. Chanced upon this place inside one of the narrow lanes in the city center. Food was quite greasy, but satisfied our need for comfort food at that point

We had dinner in the restaurant, food was good with Indian taste. Ordered non-veg Briyani with masalas items. They have given rice and Dal masala as complementary. All the food items are delicious. Another good Indian Restaurant in Amsterdam (Europe) It was located near to Red-light district.

had the lamb vindaloo. it tasted like the sauce had been pored from a jar. for the price I expected more . Service was average. There on weeknight and not very busy. Just did not like the food I had ( I know this is very subjective ). For the price i did not believe the food was that good.

This is a pleasant Indian restaurant in the middle of the city center. I came here with a friend and we spent quite some time catching up. Once in a while the staff checked whether we wanted anything but absolutely without being pushy. The food was tasty, the mango lassi even more so and the portions were big. Very good... More

The location of this eatery and the rather inconspicuous name can be misleading. On my first-ever visit to Amsterdam I only walked into this place to humor my friends and mock that name. But hey ho, the food turned out be great. So good that I even visited the place on my 2nd trip after 2 yrs. However, I did... More

Simple place, located within 10 min. of Centraal Station. We had the fish Madras curry, and a lamp curry with ginger. Had pratha and chapati breads. ALL was delicious. Service (like most Amsterdam restaurants in the tourist areas) is hit-miss. This restaurant service is so-so. BUT - the food makes up for it.

Good service, beautiful, tasty food for a good price value! Would definitely recommend - it's a 5 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station.

As you might guess, this restaurant is in a notorious part of Amsterdam. (Having said which, for such a notorious area, it has an extraordinary number of what look like good eateries.) I wasn't really expecting to find great food, just a quick meal. But I found my expectations exceeded! Good service, and great Indian food. I had a lamb... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
