We visited this bar after the Brewery next door was very crowded. They offered a variety of drinks at a reasonable price (and also had a full looking menu as well). They had a nice outdoor seating area as well. We sat inside next to a window with a view of the canal.

We had drinks and dinner several times at Bar Langendijk. The food was delicious and well priced offering everything from snacks to pasta, burgers and steaks. The staff was friendly and helpful and the service was great. We highly recommend Bar Langendijk!

I visited this place about 5 years ago and friend happened to remember the name so we decided to go back, and I'm glad we did. Located next to a canal and windmill, the establishment looks good, clean and very welcoming. There is a good selection of food, I personally chose the spinach and cheese omelette - highly recommend. The... More

We stopped here to have a late afternoon lunch after visiting the brewery next door. The dining room was bright and cozy, with comfortable looking seating outside (we couldn't brave the cold) . Our pasta dishes were really good and exactly what we needed that chilly afternoon.

We visited Bar Langendijk after having some beers at the brewery next door. They have an awesome location with a great view of a canal. My sister and I had the veggie burger and the french fries were wonderful! A really great spot.

I would never recommend a place like this one. The location is good - it is near the windmill, so a lot of tourists comes there. Wide variety of beer, though staff could not recommend me a good one, so I ordered and left the beer. Unfortunately. The food was awful! The only things that you can order there are... More

Stopped in for dinner after visiting the nearby windmill and was impressed by the hand made pasta on offer. Ragu with parpadelle hand made by the chef. Yum.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
