I visit this place quite often. There is always a waiting line, so prepare to wait or walk arround. The receiver will mark your name and let you know when to expect a table and you can walk around meanwhile. Definatly worth the wait. It is that good - the food, atmosphere. It just always hit the right spot when... More

The food is delicious and it is absolutely an ideal place to taste the Chinese food. Besides, the price is not experience, you can be extremely full and satisfied with only €10 per person. Excellent service with warm welcome, we feel at home!!!

Surprised to see a framed award on the wall for best Chinese Restaurant in the Netherlands a few years ago. I'll admit it was good but surely not worthy of a national award unless Chinese cuisine is not to a very high standard in the Netherlands. Enjoyed the Spring Rolls but the Chicken and Sweetcorn soup and Main courses were... More

Followed a lonely planet recommendation. Whilst it doesn't win any interior design awards, the food did not disappoint, very generous portions, great value for money and excellent mouthwatering dishes. Delicious. The staff are very friendly too

My dutch family recommended we go to dinner here and order the oysters with bean sauce! Was so great! The food was fresh, healthy ad delicious! The dumpling soup was just what i needed.. was feeling a little under the weather. My boyfriend for the Peking duck soup! All the food was so perfect and fully of flavor! Highly recommended

Not a fancy restaurant, but do expect authentic chinese food (hong kong). Amazing BBQ meat. Fast service. Reasonable priced too!

In my life so far I have lived 11 years in China, 10 years in Singapore and have visited Hong Kong and Taiwan. So I've tasted numerous Chinese dishes of various cooking styles---Northern China, Sichuanese, Cantonese, Hokkien and so on. I'm fussy when it comes to food, but trust me, this place serves good, authentic Chinese (primarily Cantonese) dishes. I... More

Nam Kee is not a fancy restaurant. You come here for the purpose of eating. It is a typical Chinese fastfood. It was round noon on a cold winter day and therefor we ordered a sui kau noodle soup. This soup contained 8 shrimp dumplings and for €12,50, that is certainly a bargain. We were content and full after this... More

I went there with my friends last week and the food was amazing. We are all from Hong Kong and we can say that they are serving better food than we got in Hong Kong. Must go!

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
