We ready for a rest and a snack after a couple of hours at the Hermitage. We used the cafeteria-style line and had hot chocolate with a pastry. Others were having coffee, wine, beer, soup, sandwiches, and more. Seating was very comfortable, temperature was just right. Gave us good time to regroup and decide 'what's next.'

This is a lovely quiet restaurant at the Hermitage Amsterdam museum. Prices are relatively high and the menu not very varied. Management and service seem like they still need to get their bearings.

Located in the hermitage museum this restaurant has two parts: self service and a la carte. The restaurant a la carte is very good. Modern ambiance, good choices based on the the a of the temporary exhibitions. Good service and friendly crew. Perfect to combine with a visit to the museum.

Comfortable modern style restaurant in a beautiful setting (the Hermitage museum of the Golden Age). Ideal place for a longer coffee or lunch break. Good food.

We didn't go to the Hermitage Museum, but were looking for a spot to eat lunch. The meal was simple and tasty and the coffee and apple pie delicious. The dining area is spacious and very pleasant. It's comfortable and easy to carry on a conversation as it's not at all noisy. It was an oasis of calm in busy... More

Neva is a very good choice for ending your visit to the Hermitage Museum. You can rest, recollect your impressions and enjoy good food. Take a seat at the window to enjoy the view onto the inner court. This prices are on the higher side, but they are so in the whole area. Unlike most of the Dutch restaurants, there... More

We had lunch and a snack here whilst visiting the Museum. It is a comfortable place and was not overcrowded as so many tourist attractions are. If you are passing the Museum you can visit the restaurant without having to pay to go into the Museum. There is a range of cooked dishes, sandwiches soup etc. We had an excellent... More

The restaurant is placed inside the Hermitage Museum in Amsterdam. Ideal during weekend, you have a nice meal (book in advance!) and then a visit to the museum...very relaxing day. Food is excellent and very well presented. Personnel extremely kind and professional. Menu choice not so wide, but more than acceptable for a lunch!

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
