Myself and my partner are lovers of all Greek food so we were so happy to find this little gem! The pitta gyros is amazing and the prices are reasonable too! If you love Greek food you have to give this gyros a go!

My brother ate here and ate one bite of his entree. It was that bad and it was one bite too many. Ordered the lamb with spinach and cheese. Do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My husband and I ate dinner here on a Tuesday evening in mid-October 2016. We had the tsatziki dip for an appetizer (served with regular bread, not pita bread, just FYI!). We each had the gyro plate. Portions were generous and the food was quite good. We were there at the same time as a very large group of school-age... More

We stopped off here for a late lunch. Both had the Chicken Skewers. Piping hot, and very tasty. Owner was very attentive. Very enjoyable.

Happened upon this restaurant walking down a busy street. We were so glad we choose it. Delicious Greek salad and lamb. Warm, subtle service. We sat outside in the sunshine and were happy!

My friend and I went for lunch. We sat outside and had a lovely time. The service was warm but discreet and the food (grilled lamb chops (paidakia) and Greek salad) was delicious--fragrant, savory grilled lamb, wonderfully spiced.

Had a dinner there on a nice sunny day in Amsterdam. Had a grilled octopus for a starter, grilled sea bass and grilled dorado for a main course. House wine (Rose) was very good, you'd expect that from good French wine. Food was cooked perfectly. Just a little bit of spices, herbs and salt on the fish. Octopus was obviously... More

The food was delicious! Sister and I were on the hunt for something different when our charming host to be asked if we would enjoy an aperitif...we had been discussing the merits of the various restaurants and looking at the menus posted outside of different places. Of course, we both said, "yes!" We were escorted into a very quiet dining... More

We are living in the netherlands and we normally bring our friends or family to this restaurant from times to times. However this last friday, the menu changed and there were no more pitas breads in the card! Only plates and quite expensive. I ordered a plate with chicken and it was only pieces of fats with few meats... I... More

Waves Greek Cafe n 'Restaurant Amsterdam is located in the center, near the Leidseplein, City Theatre and the De La Mar Theatre. In Amsterdam, where many Greek restaurant does his best to look like a typical island taverna, jumps Waves in the Leidseplein neighborhood, out because of the emphasis on taste, personal hospitality and conviviality instead of Aegean colors, fishnets and Olympian gods. "In an area awash with Greek restaurants That Do a pretty routine island-taverna impersonation, Waves stands out for putting more emphasis on taste and less on dazzling Aegean colors, fishing nets, and the Olympian deities. Its single room is modern, restrained in notes decor, and softly lit. The specialties - afelia (lamb cubes in coriander-and-wine sauce), moussaka, kleftiko (oven-baked lamb), and others - are not much different in principle from Those of other local Greek restaurants, but are gene rally better prepared and served - which, after all, is difference enough.Tip "Gyros" only in Amsterdam. Waves restaurant you are welcome to enjoy fresh food, good wine and friendly service. Our chefs can draw from a wide range of fresh fish n meat. If you are not a fish lover, then there are also meat, Gyros and vegetarian dishes that you can order.
