We regularly stop here when we are out on the bike for a bit of fresh air by the Amstel. The bakery has been there since 1897 and is still producing super bread, pastries and cakes. Their restaurant is a very welcome haven of good food, friendly service and super location. They are located right by the Amstel and a... More

Lovely tearoom in picturesque town. Beautiful view of the Church. We sat outside by the bridge and watched it lift as the boats go past. We had the pure chocolate milk from the menu (with and without cream). It was very good and strong chocolate flavor! The cream hot chocolate was great but became too rich at the end! The... More

Fresh and flavoursome lunch at this bakery in a lovely location next to a lifting bridge in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. Simple sandwiches were made gourmet by using home-baked bread, freshly sliced ham, Dutch cheese and flavours such as balsamic dressing, rocket and mustard. Smoothies were a big hit and blended in front of us.

We loved that this place took us slightly away from the touristy areas. Highly recommended if you want to see a more side of the City.Good stuff, especially if you love whole wheat. On the Wibaustraat they have a nice takeaway lunch place. A cheap option for a basic sandwich on great bread.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
