Reviewed yesterday NEW

Just had a lovely dinner with friends at The Lobby. The menu is small but well thought out, and the very friendly servers checked in frequently to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal. Would definitely recommend.

I booked online a week or so before our trip and I'm glad I did as the whole restaurant was packed with tables turning over quickly. Most of the diners were locals, which is always a good place to be. Service was very good - until after the starters were cleared away then it slowed down considerably. This wasn't a... More

Small but very interesting menu. The dishes we had were all excellent. The evening atmosphere was buzzy but not too noisy. Friendly service. Packed even on a Monday evening.

The Lobby has a chic, romantic ambiance and impressive food. Lots of vegetarian options - the artichoke benedict is sooo unique and delicious. The service was wonderful. Must go!!!

This place is amazing! The food is great (especially the pancakes with banana, omgggg!), really nice cocktails and so much more! The staff is always so nice and attentive. Also Amanda makes the best iced coffee! 100% recommend this place to anyone!

Went for breakfast at the Lobby, on a sunny but chilly morning. Arrived at 9 am to a virtually empty restaurant and found the staff very slowly setting up for the day despite the fact that they open at 7. Service was equally slow.... We found the place quite dark, not much natural sunlight flowing in from the narrow street... More

Very relaxed setting in back street near Dam square. There is outside seating but we went inside. Portions not large but delicately designed. Singular vegetarian option but was well enjoyed. Highly recommended.

We went here for Sunday brunch, but the menu looks more like a straightforward lunch menu. However, by looking closely, there are certain brunch items which we enjoyed along with Bloody Marys and Mimosas. The sun was out and so were we, but as we were in the shady side of the square it felt a little cold. Thank goodness... More

We had both breakfast and dinner at The Lobby and enjoyed everything about the food and restaurant itself. If you're staying in the hotel adding the breakfast to your rate is a good idea as you can quickly rack up a bill otherwise, although it's well worth the money. The options [for breakfast] were healthy, filling and lovingly made. The... More

Our group of 3 were pleasantly surprised by the quality & inspired presentation of The Lobby's dishes. On a cold damp windy evening, we didn't feel like crossing town to trendy venues, so we dined in the hotel restaurant, The Lobby. It's actually popular with locals, full nightly, and reservations advised. Quality of food is excellent. For starters, we had... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
