I guess I had no idea this was a modern Japanese style restaurant. I thought it was a tapas. Food was beautifully prepared and service was very nice. Sure was hungry come morning. My guess is it was very good but not my style so not sure. Best was pest dessert.

The food was delicious and provided in smaller portions so you can choose multiple dishes. The bread is fresh baked and served hot. The fried seaweed crisps are great.

Once again we had a fantastic dinner in DE KERSENTUIN. The dishes are real artworks and the tastes are a wonderful combination. This is work by MATERS and the service is more than great and extremely friendly. We will be back during our next trip to Amsterdam

Staying at the Bilderberg Garden Hotel which is attached to this restaurant and was pushed for time for dinner so after coming in for a quick bite I thought I'd write a review to say how wonderful the restaurant is. Totally surprised at the quality of food and service given to me. The staff are attentive without being too much... More

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - this was our second Christmas Day spent in De Kersentuin. The staff are top notch, and the chef is fantastic. I doubt we were the easiest party to cater for with one vegetarian and one gluten free who chose between the two menus - but as usual the vegetarian options were fantastic,... More

The dishes are a true piece of art, full of colors and decorations. The taste is amazing, different from everything I have eaten. Excellent service. It is quite expensive but worth the experience for sure.

We were staying the hotel that hosts his restaurant and visited it because it was raining heavily and we didn't want to get wet. It was a fortuitous decision and we agreed that the meal was one of the most delicious, and beautifully prepared, we'd ever had. The menu recommends that each diner chooses three or four of the dishes... More

Classic high cuisine place restaurant with many years in the city of Amsterdam but without something that makes me come back. An explainable sensation. It was everything as expected, very good, but it was something missing. The X factor of a restaurant, I suppose. They were a few little mistakes with orders and the service tried to bullscrement us a... More

On 2nd Christmasday we had dinner in the "KERSENTUIN" and we have been blown away about the incredible tastes and way of cooking. The Chef came and explained every dish to us and our wives asked very detailed questions he happily responded. Our wives are planning to follow a cooking lesson in 2017. We will return on several occasions in... More

Not often does one experience food that's prepared with so much care and thought these days. Everything served was extraordinary in some way - the rye bread was super crusty, some ingredients were served paper-thin, textures were perfection. Apart from the courses we ordered there were suprises, like appetisers and sweets with coffee that were really interesting. Excellent for grown... More

Description
The Restaurant De Kersentuin has undergone a complete renovation and is now open once again. With a famous history which spans more than 30 years, the restaurant has now moved in an exciting and innovative new direction. The kitchen is in the capable hands of two-starred Michelin chef Stefan van Sprang. Stefan's motto is high-level casual dining with a healthy serving of flair. Among other culinary delights, his menu includes simplified versions of several signature dishes from Aan de Poel.
