This was just across from our hotel. There always seemed to be something going on. Music, food, fun. I was glad to be there just to enjoy the people.

Dam Plaza is an amazing thoroughfare. It links the river and train terminal into the hub of Amsterdam. Trams that pass outside provide transport into Amsterdam Central and suburbs. The Dam Plaza coffee shop provides you with comfortable seating, great coffee an food from a delicious cake to a light meal prepared fresh after you order. You are not expected... More

Enjoyed sitting at this cafe not so much for food but for the view of Dam Plaza. Food and drinks were okay, service was very good with friendly servers but the view is the reason to patronize this cafe.

A great location to meet people and share a drink while watching the crowd. Bike or walk is the best way to get around and the Dam is your starting point.

Not much to do in the Dam Plaza, but this is the center of Amsterdam, so it is a good meeting area and a starting point for all visits in the city.

We were tired and need something to eat and a sit down. We were next to Dam Square so expected to pay a higher price than in an outlying area. We both had the onion soup which came with bread. It was OK, a bit watery and salty for our taste so just OK. My husband had a small bear... More

Since being a member of the TripAdvisor family all my reveiws have come from my heart. This reveiw is from that same heart. Walking past this establishment we noticed the large outside menu offering a large selection of meals at average city prices. We had just arrived in Amsterdam and we wanted to eat a meal. We ventured inside to... More

We arrived at this restaurant and were warmly greeted by a waiter and seated. After 5 minutes or so the waitress came to take our order. She didn't write anything down, and subsequently missed sauce off our order (only to be expected if you don't write stuff down). However, I ordered the Sirloin.......IT WAS THE NICEST STEAK I HAVE EVER... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
