I finally was able to book a table and much to my regret dinner did not meet my expectations and the reviews i read in the past. Starters were great, fish disappointing and deserts very simple. Service very attentive, but Toscanini is not special anymore

We ate here after booking , on bank holiday Monday. The restaurant was very busy but saying that we were welcomed and could not fault the the service. The food is prepared by 5chefe in full view of the tables, quite a spectical ! The food was excellent, expensive yes, but in my view worth while. We would go back.

Ate here on the last night in town with my sister. She had a decent beetroot tagliatelle but I ordered the rib eye steak which was very chewy with more fat than meat. The potatoes were fine. I had asked if they could make a risotto without the veal-liver that was on special. Unfortunately changes to the specials was impossible.... More

This was a special meal for me and my parents. The space and the food were beautiful but it was ruined by the very poor service. When we were ordering out food, my mother asked how the lamb was cooked (the special of the day). The waitress didn't know, which seemed strange, as most restaurants describe to their staff how... After travelling to Italy I find I have become spoiled and expect a lot from italian restaurants. This place wasn't outstanding but was quite good. We split the raviloi to start and it was nothing too special. I had a cod special which was delicious. It sat on a thick piece of bread which soaked up all the juices. My... More

This is a very nice restaurant with proper Italian food. The bread is great, but served modestly. The kitchen is open and quiet, no shouting, very organized. The dishes are all great. We will go again definitely.

Antipasti made of onions, not an Italian way of cooking at all. Meat was bad as well. Would not recommend at all. We were all very disappointed.

I came here with a group of friends for a meal and was pleasantly surprised by the good service (sometimes service at Dutch restaurants is not at the same level as other countries). The food was good value and the restaurant was packed on a Monday night. A sign of a place that is popular amongst locals.

This is hands down the best Italian in Amsterdam. But that's not a secret so you need to book over a week or two in advance, even sooner for weekends. It's expensive by Dutch standards, but it's still under 100 Euros per head for a five course meal with paired wines.

We went to this place after booking a table 3 weeks in advance. We ordered the 6 course chef's menu. The dishes were very innovative and I would recommend to try it if you like eating something different (don't expect your typical pasta dish), one of the dishes included ricotta stuffed ravioli in a sauce that had hens comb! Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
