We were unimpressed with the selection of food at the Anne Frank House cafe and found this place instead. Nice cosy atmosphere and quiet, nice to be away from the crowds queuing for the Anne Frank House. The food was good and reasonably priced, which...More

I came here for a light dinner with family; we read about it in our guidebook and it got amazing reviews. Wasn't disappointing! We shared some cheese fondue and nachos, which were both yummy and full of flavour. We finished with the traditional Dutch poffertjes,...More

We stopped by when one of the guides at the Anne Frank museum recommended it (we had an early morning entry and opted to eat after). We all had pancakes. Delicious traditional Dutch pancakes. Try the apple! Friendly service.

We popped in here on the lookout for some Dutch classics, in particular Bitterballen and Poffertjes. We were not disappointed. The bitterballen was crunchy on the outside, with a rich, thick and delicious meaty inside. I love them! The poffertjes were fluffy, light and just...More

We met friends for lunch and sat outside along the canal. The location was perfect, very close to the Anne Frank House. Service was a little slow but we were not in a rush. The food and drinks were very good and the portions larger...More

We stumbled upon this place for a quick glass of wine before dinner...and ended up staying hours! We sat at the bar and enjoyed the company of Duncan, the resident barman who may or may not have been working. He made our evening with his...More

Known as a ‘brown café (due to the historic nature and brown wooden clad walls) this historic café serves several dishes from omelets to sandwiches to sweets. We stopped in for a glass of wine (me), a cider beer (hubby), and their famous poffertjes—a light,...More

This was the meeting place for the start of the Food tour we went on. A small brown cafe. Close to Anne Frank house and the Westerkerk. Had great pofferjes.

I only ordered one thing and they forgot to bring it! Lovely setting on the canal, but that's about it. Nice enough for a drink but don't bother I'd you want to eat.

Waited a long time for a simple ask of sandwiches and ravioli. Ravioli cost nearly 13 euros and was just three pieces. Salmon sandwich on pour quality bread but tasted fine. Very touristy area so maybe to be expected but still not impressive

Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
