This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been too. It was recommended on hotel local information sheet. Chose because of 30 year experience, locality and apparently "real touch of india" slogan! Arrived at 745, shown to table and staff seemed friendly and attentive. Orders taken promptly and complimentary poppadoms + dip provided. 45 minutes later we still... More

I was a little skeptical at the restaurant's claim to be the best in town but that was my prompt to check it out. To start, I had poppadoms with sauces. They were fresh, light and crisp. It would have been great to have spiced onions as an accompaniment but... oh well. For my main course, I had chicken jalfrezi... More

We were also not drawn to try and eat at Gandhi for any months but then decided to try it out of the blue and we were not disappointed at all. We have almost been to every Indian in Haarlem, except one and this places surpasses them by miles. Food was excellent and authentic. We absolutely loved it. The dishes... More

I have eaten Indian food all over the world. This restaurant counts among the best. Authentic Indian dishes, prepared with care and loving. Excellent friendly service.

Somehow we weren't drawn in earlier, may be due to the not so stylish interior. Lots of plants doesn't make it look an attractive place. But with some discount vouchers we decided to give it a chance. Our welcome was a brief greeting, after which the owner pointed to the tables on the second level. Once seated, the interior didn't... Nothing special, service and food ok. Would go again but better options in Haarlem. Prices not too bad, wine a bit pricey for what it was.

We got better value for money at Venezia Pizza the night before. We chose the mixed tandoori grill for two. Any meat marinaded in yoghurt is usually very tender. They even managed to make the chicken tough. Our lamb was more like chewing the hide! Basmati rice was insipid, mixed vegetable side dish tasteless, and roti far too thick. I... More

We were at Gandhi restaurant some days back, terrible service.! The waitors had no clue what they were doing, food was far from how Indian food should taste like. I will not recommend to go to this restaurant.

I've never been a fan of Indian food because I don't care for curry. On a local visit to Haarlem, my husband talked me into trying Indian food again. We visited this restaurant and LOVED it! The food was outstanding and the owner made sure that we enjoyed everything! He even told us that if we did not enjoy the... More
