We planned to have a bite between trains at Brew Dog’s in front of Brussels Central Station, but had forgotten it was closed on Sunday. So we found ourselves dragging heavy luggage into the most touristy area of Brussels. The first place we saw was Brasserie Magic Rubens. Alas, there was nothing magical about it. We ordered two simple dishes:... More

Some of the kitchens from the restaurants around Grand Place close at a certain time. The Magic Rubens is a nice option if you don´t want to travel in a schedule of time for your meals. Average price for an average food. Service could be better.

The restaurant is on a great location, near many sightseeings, opposite there is a market with little wooden houses selling hand works suitable for gifts. The waiter was friendly, the food and the beer was very good.

We had dinner late Friday night, as we were tired and hungry, and it was close to our hotel. We should have paid attention to the fact that the joint was nearly empty. Despite very few customers, service was slow and sloppy. The food was OK, neither great nor awful. After having asked for the check, we received it, but... More

My wife & family attempted to visit this restaurant this past weekend for a quick beer. After being ignored we had to motion the waiter over to order a couple of beers. We were baffled when the waiter wanted CASH UP FRONT for the order (that's a first for us at a large sit down restaurant). When I asked if... More

This Brasserie would make a wonderful case for an academic paper on tourist traps. The fixed menu offered outside does not exist, so after you're seated you have to order from the regular (more expensive) menu. Meals and drinks are listed as "regular" and "large" and, of course, prices vary; however, it doesn't matter if you order a "regular" something,... More

As a family of 4 we entered the great looking bar. Playing jazz and looking clean we gave it ago . Great beer on tap too . Was not very busy when we placed our orders ,Food came ok , but was a bit bland . Comparative to a motorway service area where there are loads and loads of customers... More

Had lunch at Magic Rubens with my family today. The weather was great but that was about the only good part of the meal. I was served the worst quiche I think I have ever had and my daughter's cheeseburger came nearly blackened and without cheese. The fries - which are normally great in Belgium - were just OK. Our... Mum, Dad, 6YO and 7YO boys for dinner.... We stayed at the Novotel across the road (V.V.Good indeed) and ventured out to see the few sights of Brussels on an overnight stop off our way back to the UK. Restaurant looked busy and food looked OK. The wife and I ordered entrecote and peppercorn sauce with some salad to share.... More

It was OK. Pricey for the quality of food. Service was very polite and spoke English. Location and atmosphere was very nice and clean. Menu had lots of faded pictures made it kind of hard to tell what they were. Overall will most likely not return.
