As someone of Belgian heritage, I wanted to bring my family and friends to a truly Belgian establishment. I knew this would be the place, and indeed we made the right choice. We had the moules - which is the rigueur, and the Leon beer....More

Very busy place in rue des bouchers. Noisy atmosphere. More than forty minutes to receive our main course. It doesn't live up to its reputation. The quality of the food is similar if not worse than the more touristic neighboring restaurants.

An excellent meal in great surroundings. This traditional restaurant seats many diners and is a bustling corner of the quaint cobbled streets near the Grande Place. The staff are friendly and helpful and the meals are tasty. Its a very busy atmosphere but still allows...More

Walking around the Grand Place, I passed a lot of restaurants that begged me to enter. They cajoled me, offered me free beer, etc. Chez Leon did not. Also, Chez Leon had patrons. So, I chose Chez Leon. They service was excellent. And, the restaurant...More

It’s not hard to find mussels in Brussels but at chez Leon it’s guaranteed to be fresh since it’s so busy all the time. We went on a Saturday night so getting our orders taken was a bit slower but afterwards the food came pretty...More

This place is one of the best to eat moules in Brussels. Be prepared for small tables, and crowds, it is always full!!! They have a nice beer list, and of course the Gaufres, in different styles. Near the Grand Place.

Always when I am visiting Brussels I try to have time to eat best mussels in the universum in Chez Leon. This time took traditional moules au vin blank. Taste was heavenly with Alsace riesling and frites. Reserve table for dinner. I warmly recommend.

I was a bit skeptical as this is in a high traffic/tourist area. Also, it was down a bit on the TA list. But please make it a point to go to this 100 year plus restaurant! I had to have the mussels and they...More

Nice food, not something extra ordinary, high prices, excellent service, noisy.Typical place to go, at least once, when you visit Brussells.

The place is huge on the inside, on many levels of floors, so busy but with efficient waiters who seem to be working there all their lives. Went for Sunday lunch alone, was seated immediately, food was quick to come and service good. Portions felt...More
