This is a rather typical restaurant, or perhaps closer "brasserie" in Brussels. I came here for dinner as part of a larger group and we were seated in an area near the back of the restaurant. Which was nice as we had it to ourselves, but the way the tables were dressed and the space we had, was a bit...... More

Average, Nothing special. Service slow. Had huitres and fish, it was ok but not more than this. The plates are very simple.

We came here for a seefood after reading TA recommendations. Unfortunately it appeared to be more than average. Tuna tartar was plain and it seemed to be even not very fresh, air-dried, bakes scallops (coquilles Saint-Jacques) were so dry and fibrous like if they were deep frozen before. Service is at the high level but it can't help when your... More

It was a coincidence that we ended up at this restaurant. After a day of hiking around the streets of Brussels we found out that we had to have some food. We looked into several restaurants and settled on this one. And we were not disappointed. Not only did they have a supergood main dish that consisted of rabbit. We... More

Restaurant Francois is located near the Vismarkt, a lovely place in the city center of Brussels. It is a well known, kind of posh seafood restaurant, but quite expensive, even overpriced (main course approximately 35€ and more). Quality of the food is ok (but you can find the same quality for better prices). The mediocre staff is not compatible with... More

I went there from time to time over the last decades. Never that convinced. This time I was really disppointed. I went for fish diner with wife and kids. No offer for aperitifs.... maybe they don't have. Limited menu some dishes not available.... this is good it demonstrated fresh food with high turnover. As starter salmon carpaccio quite common and... More

I have been to Francois on several occasions over the last decade or so but this time was incredible disappointing. The service was appalling ( the waiter spilled wine in my water without apologising), even rude at times. The food was below average. The famous bouillabaisse was more akin to canned fish soup, the rouille was nothing more than flavoured... More
