A Group of us were over for LBL and wanted somewhere fun for dinner after the ride. Having read the reviews on Les Sabots d'Helene I thought why not....And we were not disappointed. Greeted by the smokey welcome as you open the door the owner was there to say hi and welcome us to our table. He explained how it... More

Found this wonderful restaurant the eve before cycling the LBL sportive. Hadn't booked but the waiter found us a table (tip - book!) Simple food done brilliantly and knowledgeable about local Trappist beers to boot; what's not to like.

Receptionist our our hotel recommended and on entering Le Sabots we were not sure, smoke filled room, an aroma we were unfamiliar with although we stayed and pleased we did as a very good evening. Have been to a few cook your own before but usually a hot tile rather than a red hot fire pit, challenging, interesting and enjoyable.... More

We had the beef charbonnade, french frites and potato gratin, which may well be the best in the world as the owners claims, all excellent! Sauces for the beef were natural and tasty, house wine had a good level and desserts definitely home made. Special recommendation of the Belgium Tiramisu. Down side, you will smell like a charbonnade after the... More

We went to Liege for a day, and eventually we were looking for a good restaurant to end the day. But we were looking for an above average restaurant. First we went to one of the best rated restaurant in Liege according to TripAdvisor, but this turned to be a disaster, so we decided to bail and look for something... More

We went here following other trip advisor report and we have been fully happy about. Informal atmosphere with fully helping personnel. The boss come personal to check if everything's ok. You could cook your meal direct on the table in a little but very hot BBQ. Meat choice is perfect and quality is at the top. good price and good... More

The staff are extremely friendly and the owner comes out to really chat with you and make you feel at home. They have a fairly good collection of vintage wines and spirits that you'll have to ask them to tell you about. In terms of language, like most places in Liege, we found that French worked best.

We have been numerous times and enjoyed each of them. In this last visit we discovered an extended choice of special meats , on top of the menu, absolutely delicious. The warm ambiance is secured by the very nice staff ( always a friendly word to say and ready to help) and the barbecue on the middle of the table... More

Les Sabots d'Helene is definitely one of the best restaurants in town (I am originally from Liege)!! The meat is exceptional (don't trust the menu only, the owner always has some cards up his sleeves). We had a wonderful experience... and the wine is simply from another world. If you are looking for a good bottle at a decent price,... More
