Good food, friendly service and a great location. We shared a Thai starter that was first class. My wife had scallops and I had the steak, I asked for medium rare but the steak was what I would call rare. This may be how Belgians consider medium rare. Not really a problem for me - but just be mindful when... More

My husband, son (5)and I enjoyed a quality meal here tonight. It was quiet when we arrived; however we were seated upstairs and it soon filled up creating a nice atmosphere. Both my husband and I enjoyed quality steaks and great fries and salad! There was no children's menu which was disappointing however, we shared our meals with our son... More

We were sitting at the terrace at 17h30 with friends and our baby. Other people come to sit after us and were served first. When the waiter asked us what we wanted (it was then 17h45), she told us we could not have drinks because the restaurant opened at 18h. I told her we were going to have to small... More

This place is ideally located in the old part of the city. The food was great, and so was the service (although it would be expected as the place was almost empty on that night). There are so many decent restaurants in the area, this is one is just one of them.

Good food and wine available. Nice atmosphere. Well situated in the central old town area on the corner of the market square near the river.

After a long afternoon walking around Gent and ends up in the square and picked this restaurant. It had also started to rain and we wanted to eat hoping the rain would pass by the time we were done eating. The quality of the meal and service is what you expect when visiting Belgium. After we received/paid the bill and... More

We've been coming to have dinner with friends (between 14 and 20 of us) twice every month @ Cassis for almost 5 years now. Cassis has a separate area on the first floor, which is used when it's busy, but can be kept private when you reserve with a group, like we do. We always start with some finger food... More

It is hard to find a bad place to eat in Belgium. This restaurant is no exception. Modern cuisine with generous portions and a friendly staff.

I went to Cassis with my husband. He had mussaka, I had lasagna. Both looked like poorly reheated supermarket food - swimming in bubbling, cloying cheese which was burnt around the edges. The lasagna tasted no better then supermarket food - the mussaka was so poor my husband couldn't eat it. Although we complained the attitude of the staff was... More

We came here for after lunch drinks and snacks with a party of 8. We had lovely drinks and snacks and the service was good. Great location and worth a visit when you are in the square.
