It's like stepping back in time. The food is prepared on a grill and the meat tasted good. Large portions. Our waitress seemed a little bored and was not very helpfull. The music was too loud for a resturant.

We go there on a regular basis every 3-4 months and we never had anything to complain about. The place serves great meat, they are well known for their amazing Spare Ribs which you should try out. To get started you should try their Strawberry Magarita which taste wonderful.

Very nice and cosy grill restaurant in Ostend, not too pricy. Picanha, giant ribs and mixed gril are a must try. They also serve good grilled fish although this is a bit more pricy.

The interior of Den Artiest vaguely resembles Restaurant Pakhuis in Ghent, but that's where the comparison ends. Agreed, both the food (grilled tuna) and the wine were decent; the menu does have some interesting options. Pity the place is rather dark and not quite as clean as I am used to, which explains my 'average' score.

Friendly service, honest, good food in a pretty setting - everybody (families, older couples, young crowd) seemed to enjoy it. We found it through TripAdvisor and were glad we tried something new. I had the 300g steak with fries and it was cooked beautifully as ordered.
