We order sardinas and calamares and it weren't fresh at all. Too much oil in the plate. The potatoes were having a bath of oil and garlic and for sure they were cooked the day before. The guy from the restaurant beside was all the time shouting to everybody offering drinks and food and it was bit annoying. You can... More

We came to Cascais for breakfast/brunch and were eagerly dragged into John Bulls by a man outside trying to get customers. We saw that this was the case at every other restaurant around this square too so settled, as we were starving. My partner ordered the full english and was not pleased with the result that came for the price... More

Really disappointed with our meal out tonight !!! 23 of our friends went to John Bulls for a last night meal in Portugal (Cascais) and the treatment we received was shocking. Firstly we were told that the 3rd floor of the restaurant would be ample size for our party and we would have the run of this floor Exclusively for... More

The restaurant is set in a very lovely square with lovely buildings. Unfortunately the food was not very good and the service was not friendly at all.

Recently when traveling in Portugal; we stopped at this town by the water to relax, walk around and have a bite to eat. In the back square this pub was packed with people and the menu met with everyone's approval. We were a party of 4 and since the back area was full; we were led through the charming old... More

Great location (Restaurant is located in main square), nice service but average food. We have ordered John Bull Portuguese style steak! Steak was served with Portuguese chips. Meat was very dry (we asked for raw and medium) plus was very sinewy.

We ate here a couple of times and the last evening we had the special beef John Bull, I have to say it was really nice cooked to perfection and well presented. The staff are friendly and service is quick, we were lucky enough to get a place in front of the fire after dinner so we just sat in... More

Took the family to wonderful Cascais and we ended up at a lovely small area with a bunch of restaurants. We chose John Bull and the consensus was that it was pretty average. We had Pasta Napolitano and pasta with prawns and grilled Calamari - with a 3/5, 3/5 and 4/5 respectively. This seems to be different from the current... More

Great pub offering a variety of alcoholic beverages and varied selection of reasonably priced meals too.

Ate on the terrace in April 2011 and it was delicious. We shared a seafood rice (25euros) which we were told would feed two people. It was fantastic and easily the best paella we ate on our trip and would feed three people especially if you have bread and a starter. This was the best meal we had during our 3 weeks in Spain and Portugal. One of our party spilt a little sauce on her top and the waiter came to her aid immediately with a spray to fix her blouse. Fantastic service, setting, price. Wish I could eat there again.
