Sadly, Oba is closed. Chico took over from Davis and gave it his best shot--really cared about customers, refreshed an already charming interior and offered wonderful indoor and outdoor seating, good menu, a bit pricey but a cut above the restaurants on the square. Wishing Chico well and will follow him to his next endeavor.

We found this by chance as it is up some stairs in town. What a surpise, its modern, funky and the food was top class. A little more expensive than other restaurants but alot more thought gone ointo the preparation.

We came at Oba because the restaurant we picked was closed in the afternoon and we were starving. I need to say right away that we were satisfied. We were the only guests that afternoon, so the waitress's attention was all ours. She suggested a very good wine. We ate prawns with rice; prawns were ok, but the rice was... More

We normally avoid the restaurants with the outside hosts as we find them a bit to pushy and we do not feel comfortable by being overtalked when looking at the menu. But this time we were surpriced in a very very positive way. We looked at the OBA!'s outside menu the host did not interrupt us gave us a time... More

Visited this restaurant having previously eaten here last July, Alas all the staff are different except for the owner but the food still remains excellent. The owner advised the seafood rice with lobster, prawns and clams, if you visit take up his suggestion. The taste was superb, lovely and fresh and piping hot served in a large earthenware dish . It served... More

Rooftop, but not an exceptional view (no view on sea). Our waiter was extremly nice and suggested a very good wine. Live music was nice too. Food was good and fairly priced, but nothing exceptional

Visiting Cascais for first time and meeting friends places pressure in finding the right restaurant. I chose OBA even thoughit was number 63 on TA. How could it be?? A rooftop terrace view right near the beach and O'Neills Irish bar, quality food at very reasonable price and if you're lucky Umberto will provide a selection of his goat and... More

The rooftop location is great, (if you can find your way up), with good views over the square. The service is a little disinterested (quite common in Portugal) and the food was only average.

My boyfriend and I were persuaded by the staff at the door to enjoy a romantic meal upon the terrace. I wanted to sit in the seating area overlooking Cascais yet, unfortunately as the night was beginning to become increasingly darker, we were unable to do so due to the majority of the lights not working, which was understandably disappointing... Oba is up above the hustle and bustle of the main square in Cascais. It is a little tricky to get to, next to the Shabu Shabu Sushi and above the Sex Shop! But once you get up to the second floor of the building behind the Hotel Baia you will be rewarded with a beautiful space, great cocktails, fine food for all tastes including 14 vegetarian options. We will give you a warm welcome in a chic, understated alfresco environment. Oba!
