This is a solid choice for a great meal while touring this area of Portugal. Here are three things you should know before you go. 1) Great people. This place knows costumer service and goes above and beyond to make the experience a good one. They take care of the details. 2) One of the service people knew great English... More

This was a pleasant surprise first night dining experience in the old portion of Lisbon. The waiter was fun and helpful with explaining wine and dinner options. A table of 8 Americans is a challenge but our waiter handled the table with ease. The quality of the Portuguese red wine was a pleasant surprise. It was a young vintage 2015... More

We had the traditional seafood dish called Cataplana which is a mixed seafood in a tomato based broth and rice on the side. Absolutely delicious! Can't say enough about the quality of the food here. We also had the soup Alentejana which was the first time for us to try this soup. It was very refreshing bread and egg soup... More

I had great food here! Pork with mussels, Alentejo style. Also good salads, dessert and excellent coffee. Very friendly staff, clientele mostly local people, very friendly and easygoing, but nice and clean.

I had the grilled tuna with Portuguese "migas" and was quite good. The "ameijoas à bolhão pato" were also wonderfully cooked with good quality clams. For dessert, a "baba de camelo" (condensed milk-based dessert) chilled to perfection at a near freezing temperature.

Lively and buzzing local restaurant clearly popular with locals and tourists alike. Serving predominantly seafood - swordfish, sea bass, octopus etc. Nothing fancy just simple wholesome food served with vegetables/salad and potatoes. Good house wine. Prices very reasonable at around 10 -15 euros for a main course. Staff very friendly and helpful. Quiet backstreet location.

We went 2 times to this restaurant. First time we had fish and it was really excellent. Second time we had meat and it was very busy, when the meat was served it was not hot anymore. So a bit of mixed feelings here.

Here you have enough of portuguese specialities. Very much fish in different ways cooked. Very good! And the waiters are really funny. They joke with everyone and making feel us as home. Really good food and good Entertainment. The waiter Pedro is so funny, that we could lough all the night long. Thx a lot for your hospitality.

We are here twice this week. The first experience was excellent -- gracious, friendly, attentive service and fabulous food (cataplana, piping hot and delicious). The second visit, two days later, was mediocre at best. The waiter was efficient but brusque and unsmiling and the food was unimpressive -- overdone, dry swordfish and rubbery "grilled" octopus. We probably won't be back.

If you want Portuguese food where locals go, then this is the place. Do not expect fine dining, expect good food, and a good bottle of wine for €12. Wine Far better quality than the UK.
