Love this place. My wife and I go here every time we are in Lisbon. Great, simple, tasty, authentic food and a fun and lively environment. The waiters are excellent, lots of joking around and banter. All the food is good, but my favourite has to be the grilled sardines. Its a great night out. Go early, there is always... More

We have been there 2 times for dinner. We tried fish: sward-fish, black sward-fish. The last one is better. Both are tasty. The only advice could be to fry boiled potato with olive oil, salt and garlic. It will look and taste better then boiled one. Meat: we tried stakes. Pritty nice. In Porto we got better, but still it... More

I recommend to go to another restaurant!! Service is bad, and food is not served at the same time, I waited 10 min more that my friends and they were finished eating when I got my food. Don't wait for a table here, find something better in the area.

The beef and meat on a spit was almost raw. We waited more than 1 hour from ordering. Look for something else, the area have much better places.

Our group did not realize that in Portugal when olives, bread, etc is put on your table it is not complimentary, but you are charged. The waitresses do not tell you this so be alert and if you do not want it just ask them to take it away. Just had appetizers here, but good and very pretty setting overlooking... More

For €15 I had a tasty fish soup, grilled mackerel and a small salad, melon and half a bottle of reasonable local red. Not fine dining but a damn good lunch.

A local friend took us for dinner at Pateo 13 for our last night in Lisbon. The restaurant is in a lovely spot, hidden in a sweet little courtyard. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious and very good value. Would highly recommend.

This restaurant was highly rated in the "Lonely Planet guide to Portugal" so we decided to try it. FINDING it was an entirely different matter! Once we eventually did find it, it was like finding the treasure at the end of the hunt. Authentic Portugese food- we ate the fresh sardines that they grilled in front of us. Restaurant was... More

Restaurant has really good location, but atmosphere is just ok. Fresh fish was nice, but we expected better, particular atmosphere. Finally IT was rather touristic place.

As others have noted, this place is very touristy, overpriced, low quality food. The fish was fresh but very little done to them.

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
