I spent a quality time in this restaurant! Starting from the service, thanks to our waiter Ricardo! He was suggesting, explaining us everything about the choice of food and wine, he was really acknowledged and he treated us at his very best, even if he was serving other tables at the same time and he was alone in the floor.... Me and my partner travelled to lisbon and stumbled across this fantastic restaurant for dinner one evening. Food was amazing and they even offered live music on the evening we went. The place is quiet earlier in the evening but fills up quick!

Felt completely relaxed sipping wine in this bar. The staff were welcoming, friendly & very helpful. The atmosphere is chilled & the food was good (maybe a little overpriced though). Delicious wine!

The place is okay, service are friendly. They have many selection of wines, however, food and drinks are expensive and not exceptional. For example a cappucino cost 4 euro. With that price you could have much better food and wine in Lisbon. Overall it is like spend an evening in an average wine bar that you can find almost in... More

Lovely tapas in a relaxed atmosphere. Not a place if you want a quick meal, but great for a leisurely, tasty dinner. Fab live music too.

Although it was a bit pricey compared to other places, their wine selection is very extensive and they are all Portuguese wines. The service was great in recommended wine for us (of course within our budget range). I have to say though my favorite part was getting the platter of mixed meats and their merlot infused caramelized onions.

After reading other reviews we sought this place out specifically and for 90% of our visit they were on course for a five star review. We had the Portuguese cheese selection with some bread and as the wine selection was overwhelming, we asked the waiter to recommend a wine. His choice of wine was perfect and the selection of six... We decided to go to Grapes & Bites last Friday, as a couple. The atmosphere is very nice, though the room was full (important to make reservation in advance). At some point we had live music, but was not disturbing at all, it was actually in the right tone and level. We paid roughly 60 € and we ordered 3... More

Description
Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the Bairro Alto, just a few meters away from Chiado, you find in this Wine House a committed team in a relaxed, family atmosphere, accompanied by live music that animates every night. Between the passion for wines of Antonio Baeta and the passion for cuisine of Silvia Mendes, we get the alchemical mixture of two key ingredients that make the success of this house. On the one hand, more than 1000 national references between white, red, green, sparkling and fortified wine, where the vast majority can be tasted by glass, or even taken home bottled, on the other hand, a continuous search for the best Portuguese delicacies turned into simple dishes, but with great flavor, from cheese and sausages boards with homemade jams, to mussels or scallops gratinated, seared canned tuna, or even cod or octopus in the oven. Upstairs this XVIII century building, fully redone, you can find a room for the night in a cozy environment. Six bedrooms, some with private bathroom, a mixed dormitory, a common living room, a common kitchen where breakfasts are served or where you can cook your own food and an outdoor patio, make of this Hostel a selected place for those who like to enjoy the night of Bairro Alto, and want to stick around. Enjoy every moment of the two spaces in a relaxed way and with quality. Wine House Open every day from 12h00 to 24h00.
