This was an amazing experience - how the owner, chef and waiting staff (all the same person!) manages it all is incredible. It would be too much to expect her to speak much English as well, but communication happens anyway. The food was exceptional, the portions satisfying, and the bill far less than the meal would really justify.

Familiar atmosphere, bacalhau with cream delicious, but we couldn't eat the meat. Something was wrong and owner seemed to know because she didn't ask anything when she saw we didn't touch the meat...

This is a one woman restaurant. Natercia handles it all by herself and this why reservations are a must.

a great intimate restaurant with some of the best bacalhau dishes i've had in portugal. beware - the portions are huge, so better order to share and try more varieties.

Very select restaurant where we were made to feel like part of the family. Homecooked, but excellent food. Would recommend a visit, but don't expect English speaking owner. Try to learn some Portuguese and be part of the culture! Excellent experience!

Maybe the best place to eat in Lisbon. Reservation needed (only 20 seats) If you're a foodie the restaurant worth the trip. (Zia Natercia vizia gli italiani!)

Coming here regularly since 2009 and the athmosphere, food and prices haven't changed. My favorite place when it comes to Bacalhau com Natas or Bacalhau a Bras - two classic Portuguese dishes, made to perfection by Natercia! Also try her house Bacalhau! Love the little cheeses as starters and the delicious sweet rice pudding for dessert. Always taking all friends... More

This is a hidden gem, the food is to DIE FOR! She's a bit tricky to deal with, but she's a legend and it's a one woman show...she cooks, serves and washes up, she'll rant and rave in Portuguese about world politics and everything else on the planet, but she knows her food and she's an artist. This is a... More

I can only assume that the negative reviews of this restaurant have been posted by those that just did not get the idea of eating in an authentic one woman restaurant. Natercia has run this restaurant for many years, an independent spirit with a taste for the practical, sometimes theatrical, but always with a view to good food for her... More

Place is small, crowded and menu do not offer much choice. But if you are in Lisbon, you must go there! Natercia will prepare for you the real Portuguese bacalhau (and other nice portughese dish). Avoid the place if you are on a diet! Food is simply great. Quantities are big, prices are not. Natercia you will make you feel... More

Staying in Graca & Sao Vicente

Neighbourhood Profile
Graca & Sao Vicente
You can be thankful that most common travel guides don't mention Graça and São Vicente that often. Part of Lisbon's historic center and "Old Town", they feel like independent villages in the capital's center, and more untouched than Alfama. Amazing views, restaurants and parks, as well as important monuments like the S. Vicente Church and the National Pantheon, make this a spectacular option for those looking for a more tranquil walk-around in the center of Lisbon. Graça has been the choice of many younger people over the past years, both nationals and expats, given the cozy feeling of the neighborhood and its hidden secrets.
