This pastry shop is a classic in Lisbon. Either local or tourist you will come here to taste all the traditional Portuguese sweets and much more. Visit the place for breakfast, brunch or just a coffee and you won't be dissapointed. The staff is a...More

The best spot to sit outdoors and watch the people of Lisbon go by. Buskers usually play right outside. Despite the prime position, the prices are very reasonable. The pastries are good, but maybe not the best in Lisbon. Beautiful architecture but somewhat surly staff....More

I had read people of Lisbon were serious about their coffee cannot be based on the offerings from this cafe. Cappuccino was truly unpleasant no tast of coffee and smothered with cinnamon. Wasn't asked if I wanted it just presented with it. All in all...More

The pastries are without doubt nice and original...but service and coffees are very poor. We waited 20 minutes for 2 cappuccinos which in the end were awful. I suggest to go there just to buy some pastries take away because is not worth wasting time...More

This was indicated in our guide book as the oldest place or most famous place to buy pasteis and other sweet treats. It doesn't disappoint (apart from the WCs and the lack of baking smell). Beautiful interior and great pastries...

I have travelled frequently across Europe and always tried to find a good local coffee to try. This is my first review so far after using TripAdvisor for over a year, but I thought I needed to provide feedback on this occasion. I am surprised...More

Thank you for your opinion Jojo. Our store is over 180 years old and one of our original products is our 100% Arabic coffee. Most of the coffees you try around time are mixed blends of Robusta and Arabica. Hence the difference you felt. We...More

Not sure what the hype is for this place, lack of seating, no labelling on food or prices, so impossible to tell what you're ordering. 3.50EUR for a slice of cheesecake and 1.60EUR for a tiny cappuccino. Would be ok if they were amazing, but...More

Hello Adam, thank you for your opinion. Our products in the store are different from day to day as we have over 100 varieties and therefore we have no tags for all. Our prices are according to our quality, location in the heart of Lisbon...More

Getting the staff to notice you is a little tricky, and the queueing system is confused, but Confeitaria Nacional is good for a quick breakfast. We had 2 nice coffees, one pastry and one smoked salmon baguette (which I came back for, twice). However, this...More

This is a real nice cafe and the prices are so low compared to the tourist traps in the area. The sandwiches are fresh and the cakes are good and the coffee is tasty.
