When you walk into Gambrinus, it seems you are walking into a dark and dreary past. Old world charm, first class dining experience? No! Overpriced, overbearing service by only men (really?) and average tasting seafood, yes. I cannot explain these superlative reviews and this restaurant's...More

One of the best experiences between food and service.. I would definitely come back again. It is located centrally in downtown and has the best seafood. We tried the tiger shrimps, sea brell and hake fish. The dessert and fruit were really great and delicious....More

Attentive but not interfering waitstaff...seafood bisque was refined and utterly delicious.....entrees of fish, filetted tableside were delicate and flavorful. Intimate...More

It's an old style restaurant with great service, amazing wine and local food. Nice and quiet if you wanna talk or have a business meeting. Iv'e ate in better places, but the service make up for it. No music if it bothers you.

Given that Portugal's wealth came from the spice trade it is tough to understand how a restaurant can serve such bland food. Imagine a 1950s American restaurant trying to do "Continental food". It is a beautiful room and the service is elaborate and formal, but...More
