Went with a group of seven for dinner. Bit of a climb to get there but is was on recommendation of hotel. Service was fine and menu selection was adequate as were the starters. As it was Argentine themed five of us chose the rib eye steaks. That was were things started to go downhill. None of the steaks were... More

One of the things we noticed immediately is that they did not have a pushy 'promotor' trying to get you to eat at their place. This was a plus for us. The location of this restaurant is great. A cozy, lively alley and view on the city and the castle. The steaks we ordered where very tasty and prepared to... More

Based on only two of the offered dishes these people know their meat. My flank steak with chimichurri and sweet potatoes was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. My partner's ribeye steak was equally well prepared. Also top marks for friendly service.

Amazing amazing amazing. The flank steak with sweet potatoes was sensational. I split that and the fried mozzarella with my sisters. If your looking for some good meat in Lisbon go here!

The place was nice, but the service was poor and slow. The lemon tea was just hot water with a lemon rind in it. The fried chips were very good instead.

We ate here one night as we were staying around the corner. came recommended. We were looking forward to a great piece of Argentinian steak- however the steak was quite tough- very disappointing!!! The starter: 1 type of cheese & parma ham was ridiculously expensive for what we got and totally not worth it at all.The chocolate mousse was lovely.... More

Didn't eat here but stopped for a drink 2 nights running. The venue is very quaint, with good outdoor and indoor seating, on the steps down towards Rossio. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the ambiance and music make this a real gem of a place. Had been here soe years ago, and stumbling on it again was a... More

We had passed this restaurant earlier in the day and liked the look off it, so we called in later that evening on the off chance, without a booking. We got lucky and they were very happy to accomodate us. We noticed that almost all the tables were reserved. Within half an hour, the restaurant was packed. Lots of would-be... More

My steak had a lot of connective tissue. I had to ask the waiter to bring a steak knife, because he didn't do so when he brought us our steaks. Potato chips (they don't serve French fries or mash) are not bad, but are impossible to eat with a fork. No choise of sides, no sauses. Bread was included in... More

So disappointed was so looking forward to eating here..the steak was cooked well but tasteless not cooked on a charcoal grill as I expected, it came served with potatoe crisps not fries and carrots, so your just eating lumps of meat because the crisps shatters when you stick the fork in. Secondly!!!!!! The white wine was like vinegar, very disappointed.

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
