Here they serve some of the best pastry in Lisbon. The service is good and the price is according to its prime location at Rossio square.

We had lunch at Pastelaria Suica during the lunch break for our American tour group. Although our guide suggested it for a quick service, he did not explain further. Several in our group waited for service while seated at patio tables but waiters seemed to ignore them. One of us went inside and placed our order which was then brought... More

A day out from the QM2! A disappointing cruise, dear reader! However, sunshine overcame the showers and a pleasant two hours sharing Cuba Libre and local Lager with some charming fellow ship-mates! How enjoyable to smoke a leisurely cigar! Local sellers somewhat distracting and heart-rending in one case. Pleasant platter of smoked meats and cheese with fantastic bread - happy days!

I stopped here for coffee and a pastry. Was totally ignored by the staff while they waited on local patrons. I finally just walked out and went elsewhere. Should have checked the TripAdvisor reviews first.

Ordered a simple port, and a few coffee's. Charging too much for the port and lied that they didn't had a ruby port. Charging nearly €8 for a basic port that will cost maybe €8 for a a bottle

The cafe was huge and in the cabinet were some delicious looking pastries on sale but I had to resist the temptation. We sat outside and had a light lunch. On the whole the food was good as was the coffee but the chips weren't brilliant - a bit like cardboard. Typically Portuguese nothing is done in a hurry but... More

On our way to the hotel. My partner and I decided to stop for a glass of wine and lunch . Took a table and waited for service . The waiter attended to people who came after us. I stopped him and asked for a menu . He nodded but nothing happened . We got up after waiting for 15... More

Was there back in June 2013 and I thought I was in "heaven" when I tried their pastries. I am going back to Lisbon this coming June 2017 and I will be going back! Can't wait.

The location is great and their flan is delicious. As with everything in Portugal and Spain and most of Europe, it is not meant for people who rush. The idea is to sit and enjoy and take your time while engaging in meaningful conversation and/or rest. If you want to rush then go to McDonalds or Burger King.

Our first day and We arrived to a very wet Lisbon. Our hotel is located in the same square. Desperately seeking some comfort food we discovered this oasis. Quirky layout but very practical with excellent food and service, really helpful and welcoming staff. For the seating area wait to be seated staff are great and make you feel right at... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
