5th day in Portugal - BEST place we've been! The owner, João Salvado is caring, funny and nice! His restaurant follows suit. The cod fish (bacalhau) is the #1!!!

Fine dining in Sintra, with a cosy dining room. Classy service with well dressed waiter & waitress, and enjoy the food & wine here: a nice chariot de desserts, with home-made tarts. There is terrace but a bit small, so it can't accommodate many guests.

This restaurant is one of the best in Sintra area. The interiors are decorated in traditional Portuguese style. The service is great. The seafood that we ordered is fresh, and tasty. The pork chop is tender and seasoned well. We enjoyed our lunch & are looking forward to come back.

Quant little restaurant and nice ambiance and service. The food was also pretty good. Would recommend the olives, house white wines, and white fish.

Tacho real is a traditional restaurant in Sintra with good fishes and rices. Life guitar music is often available. Wine selection is good and the waiters speak English and are helpful. A good place to eat but without anything special.

Friendly service, agreeable surroundings and nice guitar music but food disappointing. My wife's grilled bacalhau (salt cod) was barely edible, and accompanied by uninspiring, underseasoned boiled potatoes and vegetables. 15 euros for that! My pumpkin soup tasted ok but barely recognisable as pumpkin. The Nicoise salad was tinned tuna with not very tasty salad items and no dressing. Were we... More

That's mainly it. 70€ for starters, main dish, desert, 1/2 water and 1/2 wine. Food is nice. Plates a bit dirty; the place is beautiful, but smells old.

This is not a tourist stop, if your looking for glossy photo menu´s then no, stay in the tourist section. If you are to base a restuarant from the clientelle, this is a restaurant discerning portugues go to , that want a really elegantly prepared meal and proper service... that is incredibley deliciosu too. We tried the Artichoke stuffed with... More

This has been my favourite restaurant in Sintra. The food is lovely with quirky touches such as swordfish and passionfruit or steak with coriander. The restaurant has a lovely old-fashioned charm and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

We went here for lunch and sat outside. Then cam back for dinner and sat inside near the fireplace. It is so cute and they filleted the fish right in front of us! Our server Tomash was amazing. It was a very quiet time of the year but we still had a great time.
