A friend of mine who visited Madeira before recommended us to try out the restaurant. They offer mostly seafood and fish. We went there for lunch and we had grilled scabbard fish and portugese style octopus. Food came with the several side dishes (rice, potatoes and zucchini) and vegetable salad. We definitely plan to visit the place again!

Lovely food, good service in very popular local restaurant. Get there early or be prepared to queue! Great food at a good price.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner here which started with Limpets and included the Scabbard fish and Tuna along with their garlic bread and house wine. All was reasonably priced and the multilingual staff provided excellent service.

As other reviews have said do not be put off my the outside entrance! Walk down the stairs and into the restaurant and be greeted by very lovely staff! We had octopus special which was absolutely delicious. We had our 2 year old with us and they made our family feel very welcome. We arrived at 12 noon and it... More

We had food here three times on our trip one of the more affordable restaurants in Funchal. The tomato and onion soup was my favorite in Madeira. Staff were always friendly too.

We came on a very busy night without reservation and they still managed to get us a table. Always full of people with different languages - they cater to all (pretty surprised). Decent traditional Madeiran menu with a lot of choice. The service was quick, the staff very kind and calm, and it didn't break the bank - you'll be... More

The traditional cuisine performer with the highest standard and touch of modern style. Limpets and scabbard fish, a true pleasure. Plenty of tasty food ... Service in top, fresh fish presentens at the tavle, observant and positive waiters...

We were recommended this restaurant and were not disappointed. We were there first in at 6pm and were the only ones there. We left at around 8pm and people were waiting. We weren't rushed and indeed after we had paid we were given free drinks for my birthday ( NOT the reason for the review). The service was excellent and... More

This is a great little restaurant. Super friendly staff with a simple, non-pretential approach to eating - excellent food, good service and modest prices. Works every time! It's a very simple place but it is obviously loved by both locals and tourists - it was packed. But they still manage to bring great food to the table in very good... More

I rated A Bica as 'excellent' because it is excellent for what it is. It is the place where locals go for good food at a good price and a friendly atmosphere. It is not 'fine dining' in fact it's not even 'smart dining' but so long as you go along knowing that you won't be disappointed. It is located... More
