Wonderful restaurant, innovative meals with many positive surprises. The wine list is awesome and the sommelier is very competent. I had the *Menu memória* with wine suggestion.

This place is 8 years old. The owner has moved on. But, its an icon in Porto. Still great food.. Hugo, the Wine Somillier, excellent. The service was top. The restaurant looks old, needs a face lift. The food is nice, but it's a been...More

From many guide books to Porto, this restaurant has been recommended. Our dinner experience showed this was just a so-so place, certainly not worth any commending. First, there is an obvious ignorance of the management to note what is proper hospitality training and gross pretentious...More

It was a great experience of an upscale restaurant that serves affordable business lunch. Highest quality of food which is creative and delicious makes you want to return again. Make sure to reserve in advance.

Service is door to door and food and wine was memorable. The suckling pig was exceptional. Not cheap but a memorable evening. The toilet facilities are not to be missed! Take care.

Inventive, modern, mostly fish but also seafood and meat; very extensive wine list. Everything delicious including extras at beginning and end of meal. Waitstaff well-informed, and attentive to the point of feeling rushed -- a disappointment in a place that is otherwise so inviting.

What an experience! Go for the tasting menu with the wine pairing, it won’t disappoint. Beautiful food and exceptionally friendly staff. My friend has a fish allergy and they catered to that need wonderfully.

Perfect is not enough! One of the best restaurants ever. Perfekt service, kind, polite, knowledgeable +smart and well educated sommelier. Extraordinary atmosphere and a chef that is, although famous and busy , taking his time for hiss guests.

Visited last month and ordered the degustation menu. Michelin star worthy for food and service. Plate after plate left you wanting more! The flavor combinations were unique and delicious. A must try for all foodies!

The food the service, the attention to detail is all indicative of Rui Paulas love for his home in Douro valley. The menu and winelist both express the Douro valley beautifully. Really worth the price to experience Porto and Douro valley food.

Depending on the time of the year and the week I would recommend making a reservation. When we visited in early May on a Friday night most tables were occupied.

Not sure if there is a kids' menu. But I would not recommend a restaurant like this with a child of five, given the stature of this restaurant. I really advise to check beforehand with the restaurant itself. You have to do... More

In the first quarter of 2010, Rui Paula returned to his homeland, OPorto, with the opening of the DOP restaurant. The new space is situated in the Palace of the Arts - Talent Factory, in Largo de S. Domingos in the historic city center, classified as World Heritage. This building is full of history. It began as the S. Domingos Convent and remained active since the fourteenth century, as a venue for auctions and council meetings. In 1834, served as the headquarters of the Lisbon (later Portugal Bank), and between 1934 and 1989 hosted the Douro Insurance Company. The Palace of Arts, now under the jurisdiction of the Youth Foundation, aims to "establish itself as a center of creativity and innovation of national and international excellence, professionally promoting young designers / artists, and be the dynamic center of the historic center as a cluster of arts and creative industries, enhancing its ability to attract creative professionals and tourism." The concept of the Palace of Arts fits perfectly in the Rui Paula project, who understands the gastronomy field as a creation with a strong cultural component. DOP has been designed to operate as a good taste, space cosmopolitan and yet familiar, and the generator of exciting dining experiences. The restaurant, with capacity for 65 people is provided with the latest equipment and has two distinct and complementary spaces: one show cooking, where the service is faster and more economical, and a traditional but innovative cuisine and dinning room.
