We had some lovely fish at this restaurant, and the lady who served us (not called Alzira) was very friendly. It's not light food, in fact I had a bit trouble digesting it, but it was worth trying it.

My friends and I were in Porto for a long weekend celebrating my 50th birthday and we had been given a recommendation for this restaurant by a colleague who came from near Porto. It did not disappoint, we were given a table inside (it was quite cool outside) and it felt like we had our own private dining area. The... More

I went here with reservations for a large party wanting to sit outside, where there is an amazing view of the river. We arrived and had a table set for us with the great view we wanted. The service was perfect and food was amazing! I was in Portugal for 9 nights and this by far was the best experience... More

For some unknown reason the tables at this restaurant were still empty while the other terraces were filled with tourists. ALzira doesn't offer pizzas, pastas and hamburgers but a very good choice of fish and meat dishes. We had a very good gazpacho and beef in a magnificent Port sauce. Friendly service as well!

The only restaurant that is not a "tourist trap"!! So, be aware that also the service is real, directe and sincere. A place to visit. Real food, real people (you'll not find ketchup there.... If that's you want go to de McDonalds close by)

We were walking along the water front and stopped at this local humble restaurant with the greatest service. Very friendly staff who made the experience of port tasting wonderful!! Totally recommend it!

I popped in here for some lunch because the menu looked a bit different to the usual tourist fare on offer along the banks of the river. The waitress explained that the owner was Moroccan (I think), so I tried the couscous salad, which was very tasty. A large glass of vinho verde set me up for an afternoon of... More

Nice young girl served up some great beer and tasty snacks. Specially made us bowls of chips with delicious cod fish cakes. Great location and comfy seats. Easy to sit there all afternoon in the sun. Nice and cosy inside.

...but were disappointed by what it offered. The staff were pleasant but were too quick to remove a starter dish before it had been consumed! The menu looked impressive, but the food was dull. Having said that, it was cheap (you always get what you pay for!) Not a place I would return to, and especially when the house guitarist... More
