We were rejected by several empty restaurants in Porto waterfront area because we didn't have a reservation. Not the case at Astoria where we were accommodated without question and we are glad we decided to end up here. The food was exceptional and the service superb and of the quality one expects of a signature restaurant at a 5* hotel.... More

Excellent food. Some staff might need training in wine service (a lot of red wine drops on the table) but everything else was very well done. We were a group of eight people and that was not a problem for the kitchen to handle. Located close to the S.Bento train station, a must see in Porto.

This restaurant in the newly restored Intercontinental hotel offers excellent food and very solicitous service. The wine selections are also wonderful and the menu offers a variety of options sure to please many different palates and hungers.

We had dropped in earlier in the day to make a reservation and the woman recalled our name when we showed up hours later. No small detail went unattended. The decorations provided a feeling of serenity which was welcome after a hard, hot day of sightseeing. We were seated in a small alcove by a window that allowed us to... More

This is the restaurant located in the Intercontinental Hotel. When I arrived to Porto, I had a late lunch here. The food was great and the staff is very nice.

The Astoria restaurant is first class in all respects. The service is excellent, the menu interesting and the wine recommendation perfect. The soups are delicious (lobster bisque with tomato, and the jerusalem artichoke). For main courses, the duck with turnips and the black belly rose fish were outstanding. Hard to go past the tiramisu for dessert. All in all, an... More

I think this restaurant suffers from trying too hard. Set on the main floor of a wonderful five-star hotel, we enjoyed a birds-eye street view while dining in an elegant and spacious room. Well-trained waitstaff. This is where the accolades end. Food a bit too frou-frou and misses the mark.

Dinner there last week and while the food was good the staff acted as if the world would come to an end if we poured our own water. With that said we enjoyed our food but the formality made us a bit uncomfortable
