Exceptional! This was our third time and it gets better each time! Again we had the tasting menu. Foie gras, sea bass, white asparagus, pigeon and the desserts and wine were awesome. Definitely well recommended! Cheese and service and staff exceptional!!

Went out for a dinner with friends. As you would expect from a 2-Michelin-Star restaurant this is not just eating food. It is an entire experience. Nice atmosphere, sadly outside tables were not available. Service was flawless. We chose the menus in order to taste various plates. As you expect some taste more delicious than others. The mixing of tastes... More

Spondi lives up to and perhaps surpasses it's two Michelin stars. I came on a very quiet Sunday night where I very nearly had a private dinner at Spondi. Every single dish was inventive and delicious. The staff and service was polished and delightful. The Greek wine pairing option was wonderful and I recommend it to people who want to... More

Very expensive for no reason in my occasion. Spondi restaurant used to be great restaurant but not anymore. Please do something to live up to your reputation.

The Spondi is an elegant, though relaxed place with perfect service. We had the tasting menue, which we can highly recommend, together with a wonderful Greek red wine with the class of a great Bordeaux. THe kitchen is less experimental but perfect in their combinations and realisation, fusing French cuisine with a Greek approach.

Everything about Spondi delighted us - the physical settting; the attentive but not intrusive staff; the excellent wine list (with very good Greek as well as other European wines): and the food itself, which was exquisitely tasteful but not excessively self-conscious and so, perfect for people like us who enjoy really good good but are decidedly not foodies!

I remember dining next to Michel Rolland at Spondi a few years ago (and the sommelier was awful back then). Things have changed but still food is consistent but definitely not "Greek". Worth a visit if you're looking for high quality western cuisine in Athens.

Service excellent, wine list very good, food was delicious although I missed the wonderful soups I have had here n the past. This was a prix fixed dinner, and each course was lovely, but not quite as exceptional as in the past.

I had a lovely dinner with my wife at Spondi. Best way to approach dinner there is to give yourself in to the wonderful staff and the Sommelier. Emilios was so wonderful and kept us informed and cared for throughout Dinner. Wonderful Bertrand was the Sommelier tonight, and as he appeared competent, early on I entrusted wine pairing to him... We dinned there in Febr2017 with a set menu (Dine Athens Week). Pros: Tastes were great and different. Service was excellent and they were firendly, informing you about the dishes. The place is great, very nice and well decorated. Cons: Very small portions (gourmet "covered") and prices not normal and tooooo expensive for what you get. Quality is perfect, but... More

Staying in Pangrati

Neighbourhood Profile
Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
