I used to eat lunch and dinner here with my family since I was a child. My children enjoy the place now with us. I have tasted the most fresh fish by far all these years. All salads are plain greek, fresh products with perfect olive oil. The fresh, baked calamari is a surprisingly delicacy. All these almost in the... More

We had a lovely family lunch here. Despite being rather busy, the service was very fast. Of course the food was extremely fresh and very very tasty. We were all very happy leaving.

Typical Greek sea food tavern by the sea .This kind of food you may find it in many sea food taverns . No any special plate .As always be careful when you choose big fish in this kind of places in Greece .

I could not find anything wrong with my order. The whole fish was done to perfection. We had lunch the last day before returning home to US. I never had a fish cooked as nice in any place I had fish before.

Nice, homey feel to this place from the time you step in. Scattered tables of locals chatting away while eating seafood. We had fried anchovies, grilled sardines, lightly fried red mullet and calamari. All were reasonably good. Don't expect a gourmet development or presentation but it's better than we could do at home. I may not go out of my... More

Great place by the seaside, totally down to earth with mainly locals enjoying the typical food. Too many dishes to recommend, but the fresh octopus definitely, accompanied by fried courgettes, select from the fridge the fresh fish joined by one of the many ouzo types. Wines are basic.

We first visit "Avra" 4 years ago and our first impression is never changed! The place is wonderful, by the sea (the only one in Nea Makri) and the food delicious by all means!

In the end of the Nea Makri, where no cars pass, and tables are almost set on the sea, Avra is a unique quiet tavern in the noisy Nea Makri city. Simple though descent and clean, with fast and smiling service, Avra offers fish, finger food (meze) for your ouzo or beer, and meat dishes. Fresh fish is of course... More

We had 2 fish meals at this restaurant, choosing small fish, as the larger varieties would have left a gaping hole in my pocket! We had fried Maritha one evening with a salad and boiled horta, and grilled sardines and salad another evening. Very Greek, very well done, excellent fresh fish, and good value.

I liked the salmon dish and a salad. You may sit outside even in a rainy day. The bottled wine is a bit overcharged. It is just across the Metro station.
