This was one of the best meals I've ever had and the service was excellent too. Portion sizes are quite large so ask before you order too much food like we did! I wouldn't recommend this place for vegetarians.

After a long day at the Ancient Agora we found our way to Taverna Tou with the help of GPS on our mobile. Not very far from Agora. Tucked inside a lane the Taverna is typically Greek and compact. We ordered some local red wine...More

This place is fine, but really suffers in comparison with most of the other restaurants we visited during our Athens trip. The vegetarian dishes are varied enough, as you would expect from a Greek restaurant, but never really reach the heights I've experienced in other...More

Traditional taberna offerings in easy walking distance, located in Psiri, from our hotel on Athinas Street. Nice service in an interesting location. Food was very good.

On our first night in Athens this hotel was recommended by our hotel. We arrive early by Athens standards at 6:30 to find an empty restaurant. We order and were promptly served our food and wine. I had a Moussaka while my wife had kebabs....More

Excellent dinner at very reasonable price. Look at the daily specials instead of ordering off the menu. You won't be disappointed. Fun area with lots of action on the street.

The best place in Athens to taste traditional Greek cuisine! All the plates (which change everyday) are superb and the staff is really kind and helpful! Also the atmosphere feels like the 60s which adds something spicy to the whole experience!

We went at the recommendation of a friend's mother who lives in Athens. The restaurant is clustered on a street with a handful of other tavernas with cute lights and vines overhead. We are on the back patio which was quiet and mostly empty because...More

We had a delicious supper here last night. It serves a tasty authentic menu a friendly local taverna and the prices are really reasonable. The staff are very welcoming and helpful in explaining the different dishes. Psirri is a great district for an evening meal.

Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide

the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently
sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron

Description
The Taverna of Psirri, is a traditional greek restaurant, held by a family originated from Paros Island. Established in 1994, by the father of the family, and today run by the two brothers Alexandros and Giorgos, the restaurant remains a classical choice for anyone who would love to taste the original Greek Cuisine. In our restaurant you can taste a variety of greek recipies, good wine, raki, and tsipouro. What makes us differ from the other traditional restaurants? Well, that would be our love for our buissines, our need to maintain the originality of our restaurant, and to contribute to the conservation of the greek tradition, and the greek traditional cuisine. On Saturdays, after 21:30 you can enjoy our live band playing rempetika and folk greek music, while eating. If you want to experience a traditional greek meal in a beautifully decorated restaurant, and of course, traditional greek music playing, this is the place for you! Come and join us!
