Recommended by a local and we were not disappointed. A perfect location close to Acropolis. The food and wine were excellent as was the service. Prices very reasonable. Most tables were filled with locals. Live music and a dance floor.

If you would like have fun; mingle with, dance and dine with locals this is the perfect venue to visit...No tourist trap because it is frequented by the locals. The food is also good and the bill is quite reasonable. If you would like to see how the real Greeks do the sirtaki do not miss the opportunity. The floor... More

We were walking around and stopped for taking a look at the menu. The restaurant personnel explained to us that they had live music after 8 PM and we decided to come back for dinner the same day. Everyone at the restaurant was extremely nice, helping us in deciding what to eat. The music was typical Greek and some of... More

As usual when we visit Athens, we go to Geros Tou Moria for drinks, meals and entertainment (not just the Greek show they put on, but people watching as well on the crowded steps). Stefanos again is THE BEST waiter - full of life and always extremely busy but finds time to stop and mingle every now and then. We... More

After a long walk, an old friend of invited me to the table, here in the oldest taverna in Plaka. The atmosphere was very pleasant, what a pity that at time when we were preparing to leave, there it was preparing to begin the program with Greek music! The food was excellent, the portions large, even too big. We eat... More

Visited with a group and had dinner. Great and friendly service. Good food. Rooftop has nice view of Acropolis. I had a good experience, but my friend had the pork soulaki and said it was not good.

We have made a group booing agreed to pay certain amount per person , they have overcharged , really small portions , bad quality . The showcased homemade wine was Awful , don't even think to try it . Music was just ok , not something special . Spend your money somewhere else. Only the location is nice

The food is delicious, the ambience totally fun (it's at the top of the stairs, nestled among many other cafes) and our server was a delightful carmudgeon. What a great and memorable evening we had. Definitely recommend!!!

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
