Andrianou street has uncountable number of restaurants, famous for tourists. My expectation was not very high at this spot, but it was more worse that I expected. I do not know, but the cook has at far not the qualification to call itself "a cook". The wine leaves were just low quality. the speciality of the house was meat, swimming... More

Carte Postale became our "kitchen" during our 2 weeks stay in Athens. The food selection is similar to the other restaurants/cafes, however, their service was very very excellent! Special mention to Lefteris for making us feel welcomed every time! They have good portions ... we tried almost all of the items in their menu and we enjoyed each of them.... More

This restaurant was recommended by our bike tour guide George. When we walked up and began to look at the menu in front of the restaurant, the owner was very nice and walked us through the full menu explaining what some of the dishes were and which was recommended. We said at a table with a view of the temple... More

The food is good, but not as tasty as in other places. Taramasalata is not their best speciality, I've eaten much more better in other restaurants. Wifi is ok, waiters are nice, service is quick.

The food here is ... how to say, under average from other restaurants we eat, but it was ok. Big plus is a great vine , we didnt have that good in Greece at all... Staff is good and doing their best to help you about any question.

The food is great (especially the veal burgers with fries & rice - delicious!). The service is nice and kind. The prices are very good, too (6,50 - 8,00€ gets you an assortment of meat and sides). They have big bottles of sparkling water, which is very rare around here.

We had visited the wonderful Keramikos museum and was walking back towards town, and was looking somewhere to have a bite to eat. We were invited by a street vendor to view Carte Postale's menu. WE thought it looked good with an ideal location for people watching. The staff were great, funny, friendly and courteous. the food generous and very... More

As we walked along the street, the owner asked us "are you hungry, look at our menu." We stopped because he was so nice, took a look, and sat down for a seafood lunch. Had a large platter of assorted fish and seafood for 25 Euro. Great meal for two. Many of the restaurants along this row have the same... More

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
