One of the most stylish yet unpretentious bars in central athens with a properly separated smoke-free area. This is important if you do not smoke as most places in Athens do not comply with the law. Tasty dishes, excellent value.

So I'm always meeting up friends when in Athens on holiday. Where can you find a nice, central, gay friendly cafe-bar with good cocktails and/or coffee? Well HERE! I visit and will visit every time!

Very bad service and food. And although it is supposed to be a gay-friendly bar, there have always been homophobic incidents. Not recommended, at all.

One of my fav places at the city center. Everyone working there are friendly and professionals. Good quality food that tastes yummy yummy obviously and really nice coctails. Well I have to say that I have been trying to get their recipe for the best VYSINADA I ve ever tried!! Recommended for a casual night out, for the best pub... More

Crowded! Lots of people. Coffee place, drinks and nice sweets. But not any good food. Its a very nice position for spending a few moments with friends and drinking good chocolate.

This bar was ok, but nothing more. Was a bit expensive, 14 euro for 2 small drinks. Was nice to visit but nothing special to come back for.

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
