Really lovely Italian restaurant in Athens. Attentive service from owner without being obtrusive - explained menu choices and new dishes being added to menu. We had a lovely, tasty meal, excellent value. If had been staying longer in Athens we would have eaten here more than once (probably the only restaurant we felt that way about - we tried 5).... Had Risotto la Pollo that was a bit bland, but not over cooked. The rest of the group had pastas that were good, but nothing wow.

If you are near Acropolis Museum and you want Italian pasta is a good place. The service is not of the best.

I spotted this place near my hotel and went there when I wanted a break from Greek food, excellent though it was. The place is small, but the food is expertly prepared. Well worth visiting.

We ate here the night before the Athens Marathon as it was the nearest place to get pasta to our hotel! All the staff were really friendly, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

2 couples out for dinner, this restaurant is just around the corner from the Parthenon Hotel where we are staying. We were welcomed by one of the proprietors. he suggested a lovely cabernet/merlot wine and we were not disappointed. We had a variety of dishes from the menu and we thoroughly enjoyed same. Unfortunately service was a bit slow, and... More

I went there with my family, wife, son, DiL, and two grandchildren. Everything, pasta, pizza an d bruchettos were very good. We all agreed it had a great meal, it may be a little bit hidden around the corner from all the tourist-traps with food-pusher all over the street. This is in a quiet side street and without ab aggressive... More

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
